It’s Spring Break in the DMV and instead of planning a getaway to a warm, far off place…plan a staycation; cause there is plenty going on in DC this week! And these much anticipated warmer temperatures only make me more excited about this weeks upcoming events.
TUESDAY: The kick-off to my Spring Break week will begin Tuesday night at College Tuesdays at Lima Lounge. Its Spring Break for many colleges and universities, which means everyone’s back home in the DC area!
WEDNESDAY: Wed night is the rescheduled Goodie Mob show at 930 Club from Feb. 11, which was cancelled because of snow. A full reunion for the ’90s Atlanta hip-hop stars, including vocalist Cee-Lo (Gnarls Barkley). This show should be dope! And once it’s over, I’ll be heading back to Lima Lounge for their I Love Wednesdays party for my midweek release. It’s 21+ tonight too, which makes the crowd totally different than the night before.
THURSDAY: Then its Thursday, wow, almost the weekend, which can only mean one thing..”time to party!”. The biggest college night in the DMV is going on at LUSH Thursdays at Ultrabar. Featuring three floors of the best booty shaking partying DC has to offer on a Thursday Night with the Party Boy himself HOT 99.5’s DJ Chris Styles! And for all you 21+ people out there, Glow Thursdays at Lima highlight the top talent in Electronic Dance Music, featuring the biggest headlining DJs from all over the world! This Thursday its San Fransisco’s DJ Dan!!
FRIDAY: TGIFriday!!! Not that I haven’t already been partying all week, but now that its the weekend, its time to turn it up a notch. The 10th annual Kegs and Eggs concert is happening Friday, March 13 at the 9:30 Club where there will be plenty of Guiness beer to go around, in honor of St Patty’s just around the corner. Its also Ladies Night at Ultrabar, a nightclub with five floors of the hottest and most diverse music and people in the city. Every weekend over 1000 headstrong DC clubbers fills the multilevel venue, which makes it nothing short of a Cancun clubbing experience.
SATURDAY: Hopefully you aren’t too hungover from Friday night because Saturday is a huge day for partying in DC. During the day, Shamrockfest is going on to keep you in the St Patty’s Day mood. Ten stages with over 40 bands and DJ’s and Irish Pub games will be going on all day at RFK Stadium from 1 until 9pm. It even features Panorama Productions’s very own DJ Maskell DJing on the VIP DJ Stage. Over 40,000 tickets sold! Then get ready for two of the hottest parties DC has to offer. Special Guest DJ from Russia BOBINA will be at GLOW@FUR Nightclub Saturday night. I’d recommend getting tickets in advance for GLOW at their website www.clubglow.com. And if trance isnt your thing, head down to Ultrabar for Chroma Saturdays! Ultrabar has the best deals on tables on the weekends in the city!
SUNDAY: Ahhh, Sunday funday. I’m sure I wont have too much energy left, but that won’t stop me from attending the annual DC Saint Patrick’s Day with a parade along Constitution Avenue – 7th to 17th Streets NW. It’s a two-and-a-half hour parade that will include floats, marching bands, pipe bands, military, police, and fire departments. Local Irish pubs will sponsor parade parties featuring Irish musicians! Go Green!
