From: Germany

Style: Trance, house, electro

Famous Tracks: 9PM (til I come), Ecstasy, What About Us, Don’t Stop, Hold You, Behind, Let You Go

Best Known For: 9PM

DJ Mag Rank: 11

ATB has been plugging away, making tunes, touring across the world and trying new things. He wants to show his fans the new and unexpected.

Since dropping 9PM, the first trance tune to go #1 in the UK, ATB has put out nine artist albums and is currently working on his 10th. Last year, his ‘ATB The DJ 5’ included a rewired version of his famous track. The accompanying tour took him to clubs all over the world. He also reached No.8 in the Billboard Charts in the US with the single ‘Could You Believe’.

2010’s highlight was a summer residence in Las Vegas, where he exclusively headlined Paul Oakenfold’s Perfecto Night every Saturday in August at Rain Club, Palms Hotel.

Just another regular year in the life of ATB {tab=Bio}

ATB (born André Tanneberger on February 26, 1973 in Freiberg, Saxony, Germany) is a German DJ, musician, and producer of electronic dance music. According to the official world DJ rankings governed by DJ Magazine, ATB is currently ranked #25, and on the The DJ List he is ranked #4.

Musical career

Andre Tannenberger started his music career at the dance music group Sequential One. He was the brain of the group from 1993 to 2002. In 1998, Andre also started a solo project named ATB. His first track under this name was “9pm (Till I Come)”, included in the Movin’ Melodies album, which topped the United Kingdom music charts in 1999 and is widely regarded as the UK’s first trance number one. The track features a guitar riff which became hugely popular. This guitar sound, which he accidentally found while experimenting with a new producing deck, became the trademark of his early hits. ATB continues to evolve and change with every album. His current style involves more vocals and varied sounds, with frequent pianos.

Despite only releasing a few more singles in the UK, namely “Don’t Stop!” (No.3, 300,000 copies sold) and “Killer” (No.4, 200,000 copies sold), he still regularly releases music in his native Germany and in other parts of Europe, where he has scored big hits such as “I Don’t Wanna Stop” and his cover of Olive’s 1996 hit “You’re Not Alone”.

Two Worlds (released in 2000) was his second studio album. It is a two-disc album based upon the concept of different types of music for different moods. The titles of the two CDs are: “The World of Movement” and “The Relaxing World”. This album includes two songs featuring Heather Nova: “Love Will Find You” and “Feel You Like a River.” Also the song “Let U Go” features on the “The World of Movement” disc featuring the vocals of Roberta Carter Harrison from the Canadian pop band Wild Strawberries.

His third album, Dedicated, was released in 2002. It includes two top hits: “Hold You” and “You’re Not Alone”. The title refers to the 9/11 events, so the album is dedicated to that tragedy. In 2003 ATB released Addicted To Music, which included hits such as “I Don’t Wanna Stop” and “Long Way Home”. The same year, ATB’s first DVD was released, Addicted To Music DVD. It features all his videos, a tour documentary, photos and many more.

ATB’s latest hits include uplifting “Ecstasy” and chilling “Marrakech”, both from the album No Silence (released in 2004) and also released as singles. “Marrakech” was also included on the soundtrack for the movie Mindhunters.

In 2005, ATB released Seven Years, a compilation of 20 songs, including all his singles. Additionally, Seven Years includes six new tracks, including the single “Humanity” and the 2005 rework of “Let U Go”. Many of ATB’s recent albums have featured vocals from Roberta Carter Harrison, singer for the Canadian band Wild Strawberries.

His latest album, Trilogy, was released on May 4, 2007. The single “Justify” was released from The DJ 4 in the Mix compilation. The single “Renegade” was released on April 12, and features Heather Nova. The third single was “Feel Alive”, released in July the same year.

In a Trance.nu interview on May 11, 2007. ATB considered Don’t Stop! to be his worst production to date, and he no longer stands by it anymore, due to it having to be similar to his first hit, 9pm (Till I Come).

André is married to Anna Tanneberger, and dedicated the song “A Dream About You”, off the album Trilogy to her.

Privately, ATB is known to be very good friends with trance producer Sash! and prefers listening to chill out trance rather than upbeat and vocal trance. Dontstop.co.uk, 2008, http://www.dontstop.co.uk/vThree/didyouknow.php He is also known to be a close friend of Michael Cretu – a mastermind of the Enigma musical project.

DJ Mag Rank: If they had stayed together? Top 20 easy. Top 10 likely

Fans across the world were devastated to learn of the split between Josh Gabriel and Dave Dresden in March 2008. There was always the hope of the two reuniting, but it was never likely to happen, or was it?

At their height, Gabriel & Dresden were packing clubs everywhere. Their productions were in everyone’s sets and their biggest supporters included Armin van Buuren, Tiesto, Markus Schulz and Above & Beyond. Their hits (listed above ) are widely considered to be all-time classics. As the Rush Comes and their No One on Earth remix both made the top 10 of the Trance Top 1000. The only other artists with multiple top 10 all time tracks are Tiesto and Armin.

This will be their second club gig since getting back together for NYE in LA. If you have never seen Gabriel & Dresden, you must attend. If you claim to be a fan of dance music, you stopped reading this and bought your ticket. if you’re still reading, what are you waiting for?

Armada man Blake Jarrell adopted Chicago as his new home after Katrina forced him to move from the Big Easy. And although Chicago is the birthplace of house music, we have a feeling his summer residency at Club Amnesia (Ibiza) trumps all other homes.

Blake is constantly in the studio, producing location-inspired tunes and running his Concentrate radio series. This is Armin’s ace right here. His trancey, progressive style of house is literally the PERFECT thing to accompany the G&D’s return.

Famous Tracks: Hello (feat. Dragonette), One 2.3 Four, C’est La Vie

Best Known For: Being a French icon. A deadly overhead smash.

DJ Mag Rank: 55

Martin Solveig is definitely one of the more intriguing characters in the DJ world. One listen to his production style and a look at his music videos says it all. The guy’s got a certain panache about him unmatched by most.

His level in the DJ hierarchy is one many hope to reach and few will ever achieve. He has worked closely with superstar fashion designer Jean-Paul Gaultier on numerous projects. He mentioned once that his favorite artist was Prince, the next thing he new, Prince’s camp was making remix requests.

Check out his TV episode feat. ‘Hello.’ It’s got cameos from Bob Sinclar and superstar tennis icons Novak Djokovic and Gael Monfils!

Clearly Marty gets love. The night he arrives at Lima Lounge will be one for the ages. Few DJs with the staggering amount of YouTube views he has spin at venue as intimate as Lima. How lucky are we? Well, we are Glow, so very lucky.
{tab=Bio}
2009 couldn’t have gone much better for Martin Solveig who has long been synonymous with forward-thinking electronic music for over a decade. Fresher than ever, the Frenchman’s whirlwind year has seen him adorned by his homeland as well as re-establishing himself as an electro-pop icon, not to mention breaking into the top 50 of DJ Mag’s prestigious Top 100 poll.

Awarded the Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres for his contribution to the arts in his homeland and across the world, appreciation for Solveig’s work is greater than ever, having also scooped the Artiste de Musiques Electroniques de l’Année at the French Victoires de la Musique last year.

Musically, Martin has remained at the forefront of the medium he adores; maturing like a fine French wine, Solveig’s irrepressible touch has coined successive hits from his latest album ‘C’est la Vie’, released in June 2008. ‘C’est la Vie’, ‘I Want You’ and ‘One 2.3 Four’ haven taken the airwaves by storm and demonstrated Martin’s primed production skills and electric approach – note, interestingly The Strokes was the key inspiration for making the album.

2009 and the masterfully engineered electro-pop powerhouse ‘Boys & Girls’ started life following a chance meeting between Martin and ‘fashionista’ Jean-Paul Gaultier. A shared admiration for each other’s work gave birth to the track that’s video, shot at Gaultier’s ‘Maison de Couture’, has gone on to amass over one million hits on Youtube. Bowing to public demand, a full release was scheduled globally featuring remixes from Laiback Luke, Les Petits Pilous, Bart B. More and David E. Sugar.
‘Boys & Girls’ featured on the ‘C’est la Vie Remixes’ album that was released for free across Europe through publications as a thank you to fans from Martin. A genuine gesture from the humble Parisian who enlisted some of his favourite producers to work on the alternative version of the album, including Fedde Le Grand, Laidback Luke and Felix Da Housecat, among others.

With over ten years in the industry under his belt, the French maestro continues to ‘woo’ audiences around the world and he has the awards to prove it. Relentlessly keeping one step ahead of the game, with ‘Boys & Girls’ still bubbling successfully and Martin back in the studio, 2010 looks set for Solveig to step up once again… but hey… what do you expect from the irrepressible, formidable Frenchman.
