Bio

Benny Benassi was born in Milan in 1967 and then grew up in the provincial town of Reggio Emilia, Italy. He started dj-ing when he ws still at school and has been producing with his cousin Alle Benassi for about ten years at Off Limits studios. His first as a producer was with the track “I feel so fine” by KMC feat. Dhany which went to n°1 in the UK club charts in 2001.

The following year, working under the BENNY BENASSI presents THE BIZ trademark, Benny and Alle came up with “Satisfaction” and in one fell swoop ravaged the dancefloors and dominated sales charts round the world. The album “Hypnotica” followed. In the meantime Benny and Alle produced more melodic dance music under the Benassi Bros. banner. The charts of half the planet gave them thumbs up.

The Benassis have also remixed artists such as Outkast, David Guetta, Moby, Goldfrapp, Paul Oakenfold, Faithless and Public Enemy, to name but a few.

Benny has won tons of prizes and awards around the world and continues to tour the five continents with his unique style, once described as “electro, sort of house-tec, dirty and cool, sweaty and smooth”.

In 2008 Benny and Alle won a Grammy Award for his remix of Public Enemy’s “Bring the noise”. The new album “Rock n Rave” contains tracks featuring Black Box, Farenheit, Dino Lenny, Mia J, Public Enemy, Channing and Iggy Pop.

His own productions are released through Energy Productions in Italy and Ultra in U.S.A. At the same time, Benny talent scouts for his own brand new label, Pump-kin, designed to create space for young djs and producers of electronic club music.

Born in Miami, raised in Newport Beach, this son of a Japanese Olympic wrestler-turned international culinary icon has had quite the interesting life. His siblings are models, chefs and fashion designers. He runs a record label and a clothing line. Like we said, interesting guy. Of course, you’d never know it chatting with him or even watching him at home (see video section). Steve Aoki is easily one of the most laid back, utterly chill guys in the world of EDM.

His Dim Mak label is without question at the forefront of electro. He’s been putting out everyone from MSTRKRFT and The Bloody Beatroots to Bloc Party and more. He recently struck up a partnership with Glow favorite Joachim Garraud! He ALSO just came out with a new track with American dance legend Armand van Helden. Oh… and he has a track with Zuper Blahq. Who’s Zuper Blahq? Click here to find out!!!

Oh yeah… he’s famous for pulling the illest stage dives ever!! So you guys better be prepared to catch!!!

Bio

Steve Aoki. The man behind Dim Mak Records who founded artists from Bloc Party, The Kills, The Gossip, Klaxons and many more also is the same man behind the production moniker Weird Science that has remixed Peaches, Snoop Dogg and Bloc Party. Under his own name, Aoki has remixed everyone from the Jackson 5 to The Killers, Tiga and Bloc Party as well as produced original tracks both solo and in collaboration with internationally renowned producers like Armand van Helden, Laidback Luke Junkie XL and The Bloody Beetroots.

Hailing from Los Angeles you can check most of his antics up on his partner in crime’s website www.TheCobrasnake.com and read his infamous blog on dimmak.com. Not to mention he’s got his own clothing line to boot.

When the world’s best international DJs have something come up and are forced to cancel, we have the world’s best international DJs to replace them!

Coming off a guest set on Radio 538’s ‘Dance Department’ with Dennis Ruyer, Pleasurekraft are officially big time. Lucky for us, one half of the tech-house machine happens to be a Glow resident (when he’s not touring the world, of course). Kaveh (and Kalle) have been supported by the dance world’s elite, including Sasha & Digweed, Nic Fanciulli, Sander Kleinenberg and Green Velvet. Their insatiable brand of techy house is addictive.

Come out to Lima Lounge this Thursday to experience a headlining set from Kaveh of Pleasurekraft, before he hits the road this winter! {tab=Bio}
Q: Who is Pleasurekraft??
A: Kaveh Soroush & Kalle Ronngardh’s baby (immaculately conceived of course)

Q: What is Pleasurekraft??
A: A simultaneously visceral and cerebral experience induced only by the seductive, deep, groove heavy, underground techno inspired music that you hear the kids listening to .. – Common side effects include: unrelenting head bobbing giving way to complete surrender to physical movement commonly referred to as ‘dancing’.

Q: Where is Pleasurekraft??
A: In your CD/tape deck/vinyl/mp3/neighborhood Club/Lounge – anywhere where organically inspired synthetic music lurks, ready to jump in your skin and make you move! However, the most concentrated “red spots” have appeared to be in 2 distinct locations – Stockholm, Sweden, and Miami, Florida.

Q: When is Pleasurekraft??
A: Since the dawn of man, to the future of our future of our future…..

Q: Why is Pleasurekraft??
A: Because we are hedonists and when the groove captures you – all you can do is surrender with pleasure. {tab=Video}

In a time when the music industry has risen to an all time high; where the swollen pockets of music executives have diluted quality; where the radio has become more vanilla than French ice cream; and the rise of internet distribution has allowed anyone, talented or not, to get their ‘art’ to the masses; Steve Lawler has remained all about the music.

His career has spanned nearly two decades and seen a teen from Birmingham go from throwing illegal parties under a highway to being crowned King of Space, Lawler has made it a point, no, an imperative necessity, to remain true to his forward thinking musical nature.

Now, nearly twenty years after he first threw the first of his legendary M42 motorway parties, Mr. Lawler is still pushing the boundaries of dance, performance and music.

“Performing is addictive, it’s a unique feeling, something that I will never get from anything else in my life. Sharing music that you are passionate about to an audience of people is magical for me.” – Steve Lawler

Experience the magic Thursday at Lima

Bio

Steve Lawler A child of the acid house generation, has been busy with the beats long before genres were but a twinkle in clublandʼs eye. An electronic artist who defies generic boundaries, ever since his days organising the infamous motor way raves under the M42 motor way, in the uk.

As an Artists his releases & Remixes have been signed by some of the worlds most established Recording labels. R&S Records, Systematic, Drumcode, Harthouse, Cocoon, MBF, OVUM, Sci+Tec, Tsuba, Souvenir, Rekids, Boxer Sport, Be As One, Monique, Kostbar, Skint and of course his own recording label VIVa MUSiC.

As a Label Manager Steveʼs label VIVa MUSC (found in 2006), has quickly earnʼt a reputation for breaking new talent and has featured tracks by such artists as Reboot, Audiofly, Simon Baker, Jamie Jones, Davide Squillace, Luca Bacchetti, Bushwacka, Livio & Roby, Dragosh, Leon, Plasmik, Ripperton, ilario Alicante, John Selway, Peace Division, Bearweasel, Tiefschwarz and of course lawler him self amongst many others and receives heavy patronage by many House & Techno luminaries.

As for A&R, just ask artists like Simon Baker, Audiofly, leon, Bearweasel and Livio & Roby and theyʼll tell you all about the support, encouragement and opportunities Lawler has given them.

VIVa MUSiC works as a culmination of everything thatʼs gone before; from the putting on the aforementioned illegal raves, to his residency at super club Cream back in the mid 90ʼs. Heʼs remixed high profile artists such as Jamelia, Dido and Justin Timberlake and worked with many of the worlds renowned dance imprints. As well as recording a track for the blockbuster horror movie by Ian Softly ʻThe Skeleton Keyʼ. Heʼs released some of the industryʼs most collectable mix series such as the ʻDark Drumsʼ ʻLights Outʼ and, most
recently, the ʻVIVaʼ series. Now on its 3rd release, the ʻVIVaʼ series has revealed Steveʼs widescreen vision better than any mix before with down tempo and deep house playing a big part in the beat blend.

Steve held a triumphant residency for nine years at the Balearic club Space in Ibiza (a club he returned back to in 2008). His VIVa Nights residency where steve played from doors open to door close at The End in London consistently sold out for its 7 years span and his residency at Londonʼs Home Club was one of the infamous venueʼs only success stories.

Dynamic, driven and drastically obsessed with performing as well as he possibly can. Steveʼs passion for House, Techno and Electronica is too strong for one simple generic association, and right now his message is louder than ever. 18 years deep and Steve Lawler isnʼt just at the top of his game, heʼs pushing the boundaries of what a DJ can do – both technically and creatively – as an artist and as a successful label businessman.

After shredding Club Glow the last time around, this is what Calvin Harris had to say (via twitter):

“WOW Washington DC went off! Definitely one of my favourite places.”

Well guess what Calvin… you’re coming back!! We can only imagine what he’s going to drop this time around. When he was at Fur it was a reckless mashing, molding, mixing, thumping, hell of a good time. He played his own hits, armand van helden’s NYC Beat, Pjanoo and so much more… it was siiick. If you like to dance, go crazy and get wild, this is where you want to be!!

Bio

Favoring a naughty schoolboy look that makes him seem even younger than his already tender years (22 when his first major-label album was released), Scottish artist, producer, and remixer Calvin Harris has a similarly youthful and forward-looking approach to his music. Skipping the usual apprenticeship in the clubs or on indie labels, Harris went from posting his own D.I.Y. electroclash music online through /MySpace and similar sites to signing with the multinational giant EMI almost in a single step.

Born on January 17, 1984, in the southern Scotland city of Dumfries, Harris was first attracted to electronic music in his teens and was recording bedroom demos by 1999. Two of these songs, “Da Bongos” and “Brighter Days,” were released as a 12″ club single and CD-EP by the Prima Facie label in early 2002 under the artist name Stouffer. With that single to his credit, the still teenaged Harris moved from Scotland to London , but as a very small fish in one of the world’s largest and most competitive ponds, Harris floundered; only one of his songs was released during his time in London, “Let Me Know” with vocalist Ayah on the Unabombers’ 2004 live-mix CD Electric Soul, Vol. 2.

Returning home to Dumfries, Harris began posting homemade solo recordings to his /MySpace page. An A&R representative from EMI liked what he heard and signed Harris to the label in 2006. Following a pair of successful singles, Harris released his debut album, I Created Disco, in the summer of 2007. It featured two Top Ten hits (“Acceptable in the 80s” and “The Girls”), and climbed high in the album charts. Along with his work as a solo artist, which includes touring in front of a full live band, Harris quickly became an in-demand remixer — working on singles by Jamiroquai, Groove Armada, All Saints, and CSS. He also wrote and produced songs for Kylie Minogue’s 2007 comeback album, and collaborated with Dizzee Rascal on “Dance wiv Me,” which reached number one in the U.K. “I’m Not Alone,” the first single from his second album, also hit number one upon release in April 2009, as did the album (Ready for the Weekend) when it appeared in August. GTL all day!! Pauly D is bringing that Surf Club, Jersey Shore, ‘come at me, bro!!’ swag straight to DC on Saturday night. With the massive success of MTV’s Jersey Shore, Pauly has been able to catapult his DJ career. For the record, he was already a successful resident in Providence, RI; spinning venues like Pearl, Monet, Ultra, Elements and Prov.

Ever since Jersey Shore, however, Paul has been doing bookings everywhere from NY to Vegas and down to Miami. When asked who is biggest inspiration was, Pauly barely had to think… Paul Oakenfold.

Check out some videos of his bang out sets and his Dutch house-esque hit single, ‘Beat dat Beat’ in the music and video sections!!

Bio

DJ Pauly Delvecchio (Paul Delvecchio) aka. Pauly D was born in Providence on July 5, 1980. Pauly has been DJ’ing since the age of 16. His lifelong interest and early on-set passion for music are what sparked his career. Pauly started spinning in the club scene at the age of 18 at local spots, and private functions.

Pauly has the incredible ability to control and please a crowd. This Italian DJ is definitely a ladies man to the fullest extreme, any spot he spins at will be packed with beautiful women, dying for a glimpse of him and what he does. What he is able to do with his hands and 2 turntables is utterly incredible. He has surpassed the capabilities of most local DJ´s and the vibe he brings is beyond powerful. He strides in keeping the dance floor moving and the way he feeds off their energy is fascinating.

Pauly is one of our areas favorite DJ’s and is always in high demand. He is a crowd favorite and a true asset to any venue. He has appeared in all of Providence´s hot spots such as Pearl, Monet, Ultra, Elements and Prov, just to name a few.
