D.C. Drag Race 2011
Drag Queens galore slap on their size 13 heels and race down 17th Street
Halloween is a time where children dress up as superheroes and princesses, boys dress like girls and girls dress like sluts. At the annual D.C. Drag Race, anything goes and drag queens reign supreme.
Date: Tuesday, October 25, 2011
Location: 17th Street (near Dupont Circle)
Race Time: 9 PM

Traditionally held on the Tuesday before Halloween, this annual neighborhood event features elaborately costumed drag queens racing up 17th Street (from Church to Q streets) and attracts thousands.
The race begins at 9, but the crowd gathers hours before as the drag queens show off their ladies’ finest and get hammered. There’s nothing that says Halloween better than running into 50 Sarah Palins, plently of Chers, Madonnas, and adult babies all the while drinking out of red plastic cups!
To get a street-side seat at an on-course cafe like JR’s or the Fox & Hounds, stake out your spot by 6, and certainly no later than 7. (There’s plenty of space along the sidewalk, though crowds often block the view.) The informal block party continues long after the last the race.

Ryan Seacrest wants to go ‘Glowsticking’ with Tiesto
Ryan Seacrest attempts to Interview Tiesto…
and he FAILS…
miserably…
In a radio interview of Tiesto by Ryan Seacrest on his radio show based in Los Angeles, “On Air with Ryan Seacrest”, on Wednesday, Seacrest showed he is more skilled at interviewing the Kardashians about their Sear’s clothing line than anything to do with electronic music. Named the World’s Biggest DJ by Mixmag magazine in London, Tiesto was on the radio show to promote his upcoming College Invasion Tour.

Throughout the interview Seacrest made himself appear as if Wilfred Brimley (the old man from the Oatmeal commercials and Cocoon) was interviewing Tiesto. He was obviously clueless about the electronic music scene and also had a rough time at the controls.
He opened up the show with saying “Wow this guy gets what like 10 million ‘likes’ on Facebook?” As if that’s what makes him a great DJ, then said, “do the ladies like a little Tiesto”, in a dirty porn voice.
Furthering the barf factor, every time Seacrest or his sidekick asked Tiesto a question, a Tiesto track would blast in interrupting Tiesto’s attempt to answer the questions, which garnered awkward giggles from Tiesto.
To make the interview even more hilarious and awesome, Seacrest said, “One of these days we got to pack up the station wagon… and go glow sticking”. Excuse me, glow sticking? Is that a verb? Also, Forbes reported that Seacrest brought home $51 million last year, so unless he owns a station wagon factory…
Then he asked, again the World’s Biggest DJ, “What is the best way to rage?” How did Seacrest prepare for this interview, by brushing up on a copy of Tiger Beat from 1984? Rage?
As if Seacrest wasn’t annoying enough, his sidekick kept chiming in with equally ignorant questions. For example, a clip from Tiesto’s track Maximal Crazy played and she asked Tiesto “do we ever get mellow just to like bring it down?” Yes, yes he does, mid set Tiesto will slow it down for the ladies and blast Hello by Lionel Richie.
To make matters worse, Seacrest asked Tiesto if he ‘makes love’ to this ‘type of music’. To think of former McButter Pants Seacrest (he was a hefty adolescent) ‘making love’ to Tiesto, or any music, well… <shutters>

Finally, Seacrest wonders out loud (unfortunately) whether Tiesto and fellow world famous DJ David Guetta are friends or rivals. To which Tiesto answered, “We are not enemies, we are friends. We are completely different. He is more in the R&B world and I’m more in the indie rock world. So, it is a different kind of style, but we are definitely good friends and colleagues.”
So all is well in the electronic music brotherhood. Tiesto is putting on a huge event this Saturday at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California for The Club Life College Invasion Tour playing to 26,000 people.
Make sure to listen to the full interview to hear what a tool Ryan Seacrest was during this interview and especially to hear how Seacrest pronounces “Tiesto” in the final seconds.
Saam’s Corner | Sexy Rexy
This is my weekly rant on the Redskins…The Topic: Sexy Rexy.
You wanna ride him for not playing great the last 2 weeks, fine. So be it…I won’t disagree with your points you make. But if you’re going rip him for his performance the last 2 weeks, you better praise him for winning the games for us the first two weeks of the season when he lead us on two come from behind drives against the giants and 2 more the next week against the cardinals. I’m not saying he’s joe montana here and he’s probably not going to be our starter moving forward next year, but one thing he’s capable of doing is winning a game for you. Something that John Beck has proven that he CAN’T do (winless in his career as a starter in the nfl).
People make the argument that beck is more “mobile” and say some BS about how he’s more effective running a bootleg…COME ON!!! Are you serious right now??? Mobility isn’t the key to being succesful in the NFL as a starting QB. Just ask the eagles how they’re doing with Mike Vick and Vince Young. By my account, the eagles have lost 2 games simply because of vick’s inability to stay healthy due to his “mobility.” Having a crappy O-line doesnt help either, but how is this situation with vick any different than what we had with Jason Campbell?? And we ran him out of D.C.
No matter what Rex Grossman does, he will always be the scapegoat. Has he played amazing? No, of course not, there’s always room for improvement, but you can’t sit here and say that we’d be be BETTER with John Beck when he’s already PROVEN that he can’t win a game in the NFL and couldn’t even beat out rex in the preseason. Don’t blame GROSSMAN because he’s the best QB on our Roster! Blame Shanahan for not DRAFTING a QB.
We’re 3-1…take it and move on. We have a bye week coming up and we’re playing an Eagles team that is susceptible to the run! If you told me as a Skins fan that we could be 4-1 after 6 weeks and we still haven’t even played our best football. I would’ve told you that you were INSANE. HAIL TO THE REDSKINS

Painted Boodies! A Re-Cap of DayGlow Washington DC 2011
It’s about peace, love… and paint!
Dayglow is not just any party
it’s half music, half paint and 100% wild!
Dayglow has expanded from it’s on-campus roots to stadium-sized venues with thousands in attendance! On Friday 9/30/11, 6,000 DC nightlife fanatics landed in the RFK Stadium parking for Club Glow’s Washington DC DayGlow event!
Shaking up the crowd alongside contortionists suspended from the stage and robots commanding the crowd were DJs Kid Lucky, RNS, Matt Goldman, David Solano and the one and only George Acosta.
Electro beats warmed the crowd as the white-clad mass grew and neon and florescent blue paint spun through the air.
A gigantic white bubble floated through the crowd as fists pumped to Afrojack and Steve Aoki’s “No Beef.” Confetti blasted over the crowd – the energy never died as the paint kept flowing. But with a sound system and light show that sophisticated in such a huge parking lot, the sold-out event could have definitely accommodated more people.
Favorite tracks from the evening included:
Beautiful People (Disco Fries Remix) – Chris Brown feat. Benny Benassi.
So Much Love – Fedde le Grand
Calling – Sebastian Ingrosso, Alesso
Prutataa – Afrojack, R3hab
If you missed out on this sold out event then you know what you gotta do! Don’t wait ’til the last minute!!!

Swedish House Mafia @ Madison Square Garden: Sold Out Under 1 Hour Into Presale
Garden of Sweden in The Concrete Jungle
Swedish House Mafia had one goal at Madison Square Garden: Become the first EDM act to sell out the venue. Mission accomplished.
Don’t worry, we have you covered in DC!
Make Sure to grab your tickets!
Okay, okay.. back to the story.
Just minutes into the pre-sale it seemed that Ticketmaster was already having trouble keeping up with the massive demand for a show that doesn’t take place until December.

In under an hour all tickets for Swedish House Mafia at Madison Square Garden were sold out. Not just the presale tickets, but all tickets. All the while, the group has been promising their fans to do whatever possible to make it right. A couple ideas including a second day and/or changing the stage configuration were thrown around.. but why all the outrage?
Oh yeah, ticket scalpers. A few scalpers are to be expected but one glance at StubHub shows 851 tickets for sale ranging in price from $158 to an insane $99,995 (we’re going to assume that one’s a joke but shouldn’t there be a limit?).
