Benny Benassi’s Memorial Day Brunch in DC!
Benny Benassi | Club Glow | Washington DC | Memorial Day 5/29/11
One of the more reckless nights we have seen in DC nightlife as of late: Memorial Day weekend with Benny Benassi had every room in Fur Nightclub packed… but the only music was coming from Benny!!!
Hip-hop room: packed. Mafia room: packed. Patio: packed. Main Room: duh!
Benny Benassi is one of DC nightlife’s favorites! It all goes down every Thursday at Lima Lounge and every Saturday at Fur Nightclub!
New Album from David Guetta w/ Crazy Collaborations!
David Guetta is set to release his latest album, Nothing But the Beat, at the end of August 2011!!
Disc 1
Collaborations w/ Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Snoop Dogg, Usher, will.i.am, Akon, Chris Brown and more!
Disc 2
“100% electronic, no vocals,” according to the French DJ/Producer.
The first two singles, “Where Them Girls At” featuring Nicki Minaj and Flo Rida and “Little Bad Girl” featuring Taio Cruz and Ludacris, were both released this summer!
Guetta, the DC nightlife favorite who chose Club Glow as his favorite worldwide venue of 2010, hopes to finish Nothing But the Beat in early July, admitting “I’m a little bit late to tell you the truth.” You can watch a live 30-minute interview with Guetta by Billboard here!
David Guetta also stated that Nicki Minaj will be featured in a second track on the album, titled “Turn Me On.” While she may be known for her “crazy raps,” said Guetta, she will actually be featured on this track as a singer. “The world is gonna be shocked.”
Although Guetta isn’t crossing paths in the studio with music icons U2, Britney Spears or Madonna, Nothing But the Beat is expected to be one of the biggest pop-house crossover albums ever. As one of the biggest pioneers in this mainstream dance genre, the two-time Grammy Award winning Guetta has been and will continue blazing trails for electronic dance music in America!
David Guetta Spins His Favorite Club in the World – Glow DC!
We were all pleasantly surprised when Armin and David both chose Glow. And when Mr. F*ck Me I’m Famous returned to DC nightlife last December he told us all why!!
On 5/19/11 Guetta once again returned to Glow, just to make sure DC nightlife was still as crazy as he remembered 🙂
You can see our answer for yourself!!
Mega events at Club Glow are the epic club nights you dream about in Ibiza, except they happen just down the street at Glow! The only thing missing is the beach.

Speed Cameras On The Beltway!
Getting a ticket is never hot, but knowing about where the cameras are being placed beforehand is.
The Maryland State Highway Administration announced just last week that it will be installing speed cameras on the stretch between University Boulevard and New Hampshire Avenue in Silver Spring around the end of this month. Major repairs are needed on bridge in that section of Interstate 495 and the cameras will exist to ensure proper speeds are maintained through the work zone. The project is expected to last several years.
Although officials have not yet announced when photo enforcement will start, there will be a three-week warning window before tickets are issued.
Tickets of $40 will be issued to drivers caught going 12 or more miles per hour over the 55 mph limit. The enforcement zones will be in effect at all hours.
Although this is bound to slow traffic down for time to come, hopefully the inconvenience will ensure speedier and safer commutes in the future!
Moombahton Massive at U-Hall!
DC Nightlife, the birthplace of innovation!
In conjunction with Diplo’s Mad Decent label and its recent release of “Blow Your Head Vol. 2: Dave Nada Presents Moombahton,” local DJ/producer and Moombahton godfather Dave Nada will be hosting Moombahton Massive IV on 6/16/11 at U Street Music Hall.
Featuring DJ sets from:
◊ Nadastrom
◊ Jen Lasher (Moombahcore set)
◊ Billy the Gent & Cam Jus (Tropixxx)
◊ Thomas Blondet
◊ Obeyah
Dave Nada’s latest Moombahton mix, Blow Your Head Vol. 2 has already seen rave reviews from the Washington Post, Washington City Paper, and Los Angeles’ Tilt Magazine. It has gained over 25,000 plays on Soundcloud since its debut in late April.

- Moombahton is a new and growing genre that fuses Dutch house music and reggaeton that has its roots in DC nightlife
- November 2009: DC-based DJ Dave Nada was invited to spin at a local party
- He finds a crowd not listening to the intense electronic music he typically played
- The party had reggaeton, bachata, and Latin music going on
- To prevent killing the vibe, Nada decided to slow down the Afrojack remix of Chuckie’s “Moombah” to 108 beats per minute, and behold… Moombahton was born!
DC nightlife is not only the birthplace of Moombahton, but also the practice ground for Jazz icon Duke Ellington, legendary march composer John Philip Sousa and funk/soul singer Roberta Flack. It’s also where the straightedge movement was started by Minor Threat front man Ian MacKaye. Nightlife group Panorama Productions was sponsored current #1 DJ in the world Armin van Buuren’s first United States Work Visa.
