Did You Watch Lost? Do You Play the Lotto? Guess what!

4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 42: The numbers that cursed Hugo. Sort of. Yeah. You know… Anyway…

Obviously with the success and overall awesomeness of Lost, people were bound to play those numbers in actual lotteries across the country.

Tuesday’s Mega Millions $355 million jackpot drawing was 4, 8, 15, 25, 47 and 42 (the Mega Ball number).

Anyone who played Hurley’s famous digits won about $150.

From: USA (Rhode Island)
Style: House, Mash Up, Top 40 hip-hop, rock
Famous Tracks: Beat Dat Beat
Best Known For: Gym, tan, laundry. T-shirt time. The shirt before the shirt. Tossing grenades and stepping on landmines.
America’s Best DJ Rank: 8

Pauly D’s debut performance at Glow was unreal. We were thoroughly impressed by his ability to move between tracks like Far East Movement – Fly Like a G6, Wynter Gordon and David Guetta – Dirty Talk, David Guetta and Afrojack – Louder than Words, Afrojack – Zeggie, Avicii – Bromance and Alcoholic, Sweet Disposition. You see how that goes right there? Yeah you do. That’s called FLOW, and DJ Pauly D has got plenty of it.

We can only assume that with more massive events under his belt comes an even more eclectic track selection and perhaps a widening of the gap on both ends! Like we said in our review of the first event, his ability to introduce mainstream fans to quality house music took our breath away.

This is not Pop. This is GLOW!

{tab=Bio}
Paul “DJ Pauly D” DelVecchio aka. Pauly D was born in Providence, RI on July 5, 1980. His lifelong interest and early passion for music are what sparked his career, that passion brought him right to the top as Pauly is one of the most sought after DJ’s today.

Pauly’s fame rose to a new level in December 2009 when MTV’s highest rated show “Jersey Shore” first premiered. Pauly quickly became a fan favorite known for his impeccable grooming and memorable catchphrases.

Long before his MTV “Jersey Shore” fame Pauly started as DJ, and that is where his passion remains. Pauly started spinning in the club scene at the age of 18 at local spots, and private functions.

This world famous DJ is definitely a ladies man to the fullest extreme, any venue he spins at will be packed with beautiful women, dying for a glimpse of him and what he does. He has surpassed the capabilities of most local DJ´s and the vibe he brings is beyond powerful. He strides in keeping the dance floor moving.

Pauly is one of the nation’s favorite DJ’s and is always in high demand. He is a crowd favorite and a true asset to any venue. Pauly continues to tour the world DJing while holding down a Vegas residency.

From: Germany
Style: Trance
Famous Tracks: Fire Wire, Exploration of Space, Human Beings, Should Have Known, Not Enough Time, Barra, James Horner – I See You [Avatar Theme] (Cosmic Gate Remix)
Best Known For: Hit after hit after hit after hit. Defining a sound. Being awesome. Great crowd interaction.
DJ Mag Rank: 24

It’s always a great time to see Cosmic Gate, but right now it’s of Tony the Tiger proportions (GRrrrrRREEAT)! Nic Chagall and DJ Bossi, legends of trance, pioneers of a sound; are in the midst of massive releases on all fronts. They put out their ‘Sign of the Times: Deluxe Edition,’ as well as a remix album of their early stuff entitled ‘Back to the Future,’ (to be released 2 days after this event!!!) and have an artist album slated for release in early 2011. For a couple legends of dance music, they’re working awfully damn hard to make music for us.

The last time they were at Glow was off the charts!! Just watch our interview/club video and see for yourself! These guys LOVE DC, and when you’re best known for partying with the crowd, that means it’s on baby!!!
{tab=Bio}
Introduction: Over 11 boundary-pushing years, Nic Chagall and Bossi have developed Cosmic Gate into one of the most creative and highly-sought-after electronic music acts on the planet. Revered uber-producers, their combined musical acumen has made them evergreen favourites of trance music’s highest echelon. Four hugely-received albums have transported tracks like ‘Not Enough Time’, ‘Body of Conflict’, ‘Analog Feel’, ‘F.A.V.’ and classics including ‘Exploration of Space’ and Fire Wire onto a now uncountable number of dancefloors. As DJs, the effortless cool of their kinetic, enthralling live sets are seen by hundreds of thousands of club and festival goers annually. It’s this perfect storm of production and spinning power that saw them become the highest-climbers in DJ Mag’s 2009 Top 100 chart and land at no. 24 in 2010.

The pair first collaborated in the studio after a chance meeting late in ’98 at a label office in Cologne. It’s a production partnership that has become one of the dance world’s most successful. In their homeland of Germany, they’ve maintained a consistent level of chart success, with no fewer than 7 Top 40 singles to their name and claimed a UK top 10 hit with ‘Fire Wire’. Drawing on a broad-range of their individual musical tastes and inspirations, they’ve continued to modify and enhance their sound…

Following up the long-players ‘Rythm & Drums’ and ‘No More Sleep’, in 2006 they released ‘Earth Mover’, which saw a shift towards edgier, more expansive electronic dance music. It gave rise to the club hits ‘Analog Feel’, ‘Should Have Known’ and ‘I Feel Wonderful’ and garnered an IDMA nomination for Best Album of 2007. Latterly this was viewed by the press as a new ‘Year-1’ for Cosmic Gate. Three years later Nic and Bossi released their much-anticipated follow-up. ‘Sign of the Times’ contained 11 new tracks including vocal anthems ‘Body of Conflict’ & ‘Not Enough Time’ (featuring Denise Rivera and Emma Hewitt respectively) and the singles ‘F.A.V.’, ‘Flatline’, ‘Under Your Spell’, ‘London Rain’ and title track ‘Sign Of The Times’. The response to the album was nothing short of meteoric. They received a Best Selling Trance Act nomination in the 2010 Beatport Awards; scored an IDMA nom for ‘Not Enough Time’ and were catapulted 43 places up DJ Mag’s 2009 chart. In light of its extraordinary level of success, in September 2010 a double-disc Deluxe Edition of the album was released which included all the singles remixes and exclusive, specially prepared revamps of other S.O.T.T. tracks.

As DJs Nic and Bossi continue to whip floors to frenzy-level in all four corners. Most recently they’ve rocked some of America’s most prominent events – Electric Zoo, The Electric Daisy Festival, Audiotistic and Perfecto Night in Las Vegas among them. They’ve brought mayhem to Ibiza’s 2010 season with hugely received performances at Armada at Amnesia and Judgement Sundays, played mammoth the Global Gathering festival in Russia and headlined Godskitchen’s tours in Australia and Mexico. They’ve appeared in DJ Magazine’s list of Top 100 spinners for 7 consecutive years now and are regular festival attraction, spinning at events like Trance Energy, Mysteryland and Dance Valley in Holland, Smirnoff Experience in India and on the horizon Future Music in Australia in 2011.

Back2Back, Cosmic Gate’s on-going compilation series was devised as an at-home audio-expo of the pair’s club-wowing sound. 2010 saw the release of the 4th volume (through Holland’s highly-respected Black Hole Recordings label). Bringing Bossi and Nic’s tight, tense, future-proofed trance/prog/electro hybrid to the forefront, it once again included many of their own track edits.

Over their production lifetime, the Cosmic Gate remix has become nearly as illustrious as their productions. Essentially a blow-by-blow of trance music’s A-list, Nic and Bossi have lent their studio know-how to productions from Armin van Buuren, Tiësto, Ferry Corsten, Paul van Dyk, Above & Beyond’s OceanLab project, Deadmau5 & Rank 1. They rewired John O’Callaghan’s mega-seller ‘Find Yourself’ to devastating effect and produced remixes of veteran trance producer Vincent De Moor’s ‘Fly Away’ and ‘Carte Blanche’ (Veracocha). In early 2010 Atlantic Records US approached them to remix James Horner’s ‘I See You’ – the main theme from the film Avatar. This run culminated in them being nominated for Best Remixer at the 2010 IDMAs. Most recently they have completed remixes for Robbie Rivera and Markus Schulz.

Chris Webby | Fri Jan 21st: “Champagne POP” @ Ultrabar

Chris webby at Pop at ultrabar nightclub dcSure, you popped bottles just a few weeks ago for New Year’s Eve DC, but why not do it all over again ?  Only this time, you’ll learn from your mistakes on New Year’s Eve and won’t black out and try to bounce across I-495 naked on a rusty pogo stick while belting out Justin Bieber songs at the top of your lungs. (it seemed like a good idea at the time)  Consider this your second chance to do it proper!

We’re popping bottles and rocking out this Friday at POP at Ultrabar with a FREE bottle of champagne with every table booked in advance!

Plus we’ve got a special guest set by CHRIS WEBBY! From a privileged upbringing in the Connecticut suburbs to… Hofstra University in Long Island to… president of the Ninja Turtles Fan Club (not really, but he’s a serious fan); Chris Webby defies all standards when it comes to being an MC.

Christian Webster went to private school, has ADD like whoa, loves women and according to him, needs rehab, big time. He enjoys blunts, 40s, sneakers, fitted hats and his little white poofball of a dog named Molly. Did we mention he has Simba from The Lion King tattooed on his leg? Like we said… defies all standards.  If you respect the grind, love to hate or are just curious how some preppy white boy from the burbs gets booked to do rap shows, you need to be at Ultrabar this Friday.

And of course, don’t forget the great DJs playing the best music on the 4 dancefloors throughout the club!  Its dancefloor insanity every Friday Night!

From NY to DC nightlife, but he didn’t have to take the Chinatown bus… George Garcia arrived at GWU in 2006 on the back of a business degree, a pair of cleats and a mixer. He took no time in diving into the local house circuit, spinning at K Street Lounge, Eyebar, Lotus, Five and Indebleu.

Within two years he found himself running parallel with those Chinatown buses, working residencies in NY at Azza Lounge and D’or as well as spinning here in The District. It was around that time he hung up the cleats and let the bass take over.

2009 saw George spinning everything from a Playboy fashion show to a US Tennis Association after party. He spun celebrity parties for everyone; Wimer Valderamma to Wu-Tang; Sean Kingston to Ovi.

His style? Tribal house with a flare for pop. His latest ‘oE Summer Prescription’ mix contains tracks by Swedish House Mafia, Afrojack, Avicii, David Guetta, Yves LaRock, Steve Aoki and more!

{tab=Bio}
Hanging up his cleats and bidding farewell to the soccer field, George Garcia has found another way to entertain and impact masses of people. George has become one of the younger, more recognized DJ’s in the scene and is not taking his pedal off the gas anytime soon. Couple together a love and appreciation for all music with an adrenaline filled desire to bring joy to people, and you pinpoint what shape his performances and have gained him recognition.

George found his relationship with music early on in life by being an active part of his family parties and being raised in an energetic, happy environment that embraced music at all times. He was first exposed to music and Latin rhythms as a child. Having his father as the main source of entertainment at parties, whether it be dancing or making sure that everyone was always on their feet, taught George to always keep the people moving. At the age of 13 George began DJing alongside friends for graduation parties, sweet sixteen events, bar mitzvahs, weddings, and house parties. As George grew older he began to perform and travel to different places, performing at private events and competitions to develop recognition for the sole purpose of providing people with a reason to move and dance.

In 2006, George made the decision to attend the George Washington University and enroll in the School of Business. By moving to Washington D.C., he embraced a new crowd, a new environment, a new scene, and a new city full of listening ears. George wanted to take advantage of this and make an impact right away. He took his first steps in D.C. by spinning at venues such as KStreet Lounge, Eyebar, Lotus, Five, and Indebleu now known as STIR. The reaction and warmth from the crowd is what first impacted George and motivated him to produce the energy that he does with his music.

With clubs in his hometown of New York such as Pacha NY, Cielo, Kiss & Fly, 1Oak & Central being his main influences, George was presented with the blueprint for an enjoyable & energetic performance. The summer of 2008 triggered the success that George has been able to have. Holding his first residencies at Azza Lounge & D’or in New York presented George with the opportunity to travel between New York & Washington to perform. That summer is when George decided to put his life-long passion of playing soccer to pursue music professionally and to fulfill his long desired dream of being an artist. DJs such as Erick Morillo, Victor Calderon, DJ AM, Robbie Rivera, DJ Berrie, Richie Santana, Steve Angello, Sebastian Ingrosso, DJ Enferno, David Guetta & DJ Camilo have been among the major influences in George’s career and style. These influences, along with his love for house music, feeding off the sensation of the crowd, his Latin energy, and addiction to drums have contributed to George’s unique style that have gotten him where he is today: able to make any crowd put in front of him move.

George has provided the entertainment for events such as Playboy Swimwear’s Fashion show, Inaugural Events during the 2009 Inauguration, Buzzing 4 Change –Cancer Fundraiser, and the USTA Tennis Final after party. George has performed for artists such as Sean Paul, Sean Kingston, Busta Rhymes, Wilmer Valderrama, Clinton Portis, the Wu-Tang Clan, Antawn Jamison, Michael Jordan, Rosario Dawson, and Alexander Ovechkin. George began his career in New York City in 2008 as resident at New York hotspots Azza and D’or & currently maintains residencies at the hip & trendy lounge La Zarza, as well as Su Casa. In Washington, he maintains residencies at renowned venues such as Josephine, KStreet, Current, Spot, & Stir. Since 2008, George has performed in New York at venues such as Hudson Terrace, Room Service, Greenhouse, Su Casa, Aspen Social Club, 49 Grove, D’or, Highbar, La Zarza, Corio, Azza, Anchor Bar, Central, & Cavo. In Washington, George has performed at Josephine, Napoleon, Spot, KStreet Lounge, Park at 14th, Stir, Five, Lotus, Andalu, Current, Eyebar, Donovan House Roof Terrace Champions, Left Bank, Heaven & Hell, and many more. George has also been mentioned in newspapers such as the New York Post and the Times Ledger. Along with being a deejay, George is also one of the original founders of, EZeeDJ, established in the summer of 2009.{tab=Video}

From: Sweden
Style: Big room, melodic house
Famous Tracks: Bromance/Seek Bromance, Alcoholic, My Feelings for You
Best Known For: Going from a bedroom producer to one of the world’s best in 2 years. Getting wasted off Jager at Club Glow!!!
DJ Mag Rank: 39

We just can’t help ourselves, and neither can you!! Avicii is back again and this time it’s in the main room at Fur!!!

In the few years Avicii has been producing, he went from mild-mannered Swedish upstart to being named breakthrough DJ of the year by Tiesto, Laidback Luke and Dirty South and now he himself has broken into the DJ Mag Poll at #39!!!

The last time he was at Lima was so unbelievably packed we had to book him at Fur this time around. There’s no way around it, he’s that good, the fans (you!) are that good and the music is off the charts!! AVICIIIIIIIIII{tab=Bio}
Avicii had only been producing a few months when his friends noticed that the productions were amazingly professional and that they had just witnessed a great talent being born. Avicii started out with doing a remix of the theme music for the Commodore 64 game ‘Lazy Jones’, but decided to drop it as it inspired him to make his own ‘Lazy Lace’ – released almost immediately on Strike Recordings.

Avicii was instantly fascinated with producing and spent many hours in his home studio creating one fresh tune after the next. Avicii never tried to get caught up in a specific subgenre of house, but wanted to keep the productions up to date and innovative. His music is inspired by the likes of Laidback Luke, Steve Angello and Tocadisco, but also Daft Punk, Eric Prydz and that of Axwell.

What Avicii wants is to create music for people to listen to and come to love, whether it be at home or in a dark nightclub. Avicii puts great emphasis on melodies in his productions and wants to appeal to fans of many different house music genres. Avicii signed on to At Night Management in May 2008 and within a month the buzz around them spread noticeably and they were recognized on labels such as Joia Records, Vicious Grooves and Ministry of Sound, just to name a few. By the end of that month, Avicii had already signed a big deal with Vicious Grooves in Australia and were head on target to soon explode over the entire globe.
