{tab=Get to Know Morten Breum}
– Voted Best Dj In Denmark 2007 & 2009
– Voted Best DanceChart Track x2 2008
– Nominated in no less than 7 categories at the Danish DJ awards 2009 ( Won best Dj/Best Language for Domestic feat Nik&Jay )
– Nominated in 3 categories at the Danish Club Awards 2009 ( Won Best Album )
Morten began DJ’ing at the age of 14 and since then, the passion for music has been the driving force in his life. Like most DJ’s, Morten started his career by playing small, private parties and local venues in his home town of Aarhus, the second biggest town in Denmark. His passion, drive and talent quickly escalated him to today’s most sought after DJ in all of Denmark– playing the biggest events both nationally and internationally for more than a million people in 2009 alone.
In 2008, Morten won the category of Best DJ, at the prestigious Danish DJ Awards. That same year, he teamed up with successful producer Klaus Christensen – the mastermind behind several top hip-hop hits who possesses an incredible feel for progressive house music and they instantly clicked and began to work on their unique and distinctive sound that today is the trademark of Morten Breum.
During the following year, the two worked day and night in sweat and tears and finally produced Morten’s debut album, DROP! DROP! was released August, 2009 on Disco:Wax/Warner and instantly gained national and international recognition. The single DOMESTIC from the album quickly went Gold and now closing up for platinum and DROP! received two additional awards for the single “HøjereVildere.” which he actually did as a dj gimmick record with fellow dj Rune RK before he started to work with Klaus Christensen.
Morten also had the single “ON IT” released on Ministry Australia – this track later being selected to Pacha’s annual compilation, a noteworthy recognition as Pacha is the undisputed biggest brand in house music.
While working 24/7 in the studio and playing several gigs a week in the winter days of 2009, the phone call came from danish pop icons “Nik & Jay” – the best selling artists (more than 600000) during the last decade in Denmark, and they were so impressed with “Højere Vildere” that they had to do a vocal remix. That remix now named “Skru Op For Den Bitch” was released around Easter 2009 and instantly hit No.1 on the dance charts, and it made more weeks (3 months) on the topspot than any other dj had ever achieved before . In addition, Morten was invited to tour with Nik and Jay that following summer.
They performed almost 200 gigs that summer and autumn, playing for nearly 1 million people in total – a record he would top the next year!. He will in 2010 once again be part of the Nik & Jay festival campaign adding even more fame to his belt and he will be releasing a mix cd of his favourite club tracks during the summer, distributed by Sony Music. Finally he is the first dj to remix The danish rock band Dizzy Mizz Lizzy – the band who still holds the record for most sold debut albums in Denmark – the track WATERLINE was in the past voted as Best Rock Track ever in Denmark!!

Wrapped Up Like A Douche
Misheard Lyrics
You may think you know the lyrics, but what are they really saying?
Next time you won’t be caught wondering why Elton John would want to be held closer by Tony Danza. Or would he?
Everyone has had a moment where they are singing along with a song and belt out what they think are the correct lyrics, only to be embarrassed when someone corrects their mistake.
There are websites (AmIRight.com, Kissthisguy.com) devoted to it, there are shows based on it (Don’t Forget the Lyrics), and annoying friends who like to point out your mistakes.
“Wrapped up like a douche” a common mistake when singing Manfred Mann’s “Blinded by the light” to which the original lyrics are “revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night”.
A hilarious collection of misheard lyrics on video
Some other classic mistakes
- The Beatles – Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds
“The girl with colitis goes by.” (Real lyric: “The girl with kaleidoscope eyes”) - Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer
“Olive, the other reindeer.” (Real lyric: “All of the other reindeer”) - Bob Dylan – Blowin’ In the Wind
“The ants are my friends, they’re blowing in the wind.” (Real lyric: “The answer is blowing in the wind”) - Led Zeppelin – Stairway to Heaven
“There’s a wino down the road.” (Real lyric: “And as we wind on down the road”) - Iron Butterfly – In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida
“In a glob of Velveeta, honey.” (Real lyric: “In-A-Gadda Da Vida,” a.k.a., “In the garden of Eden”) - Justin Timberlake – Sexy Back
“Go hippie, go hippie, go.” (Real lyric: “Go ahead, be gone with it”) - The Clash – Pour Some Sugar on Me
“Pour some shook-up Ramen.” (Real lyric: “Pour some sugar on me”) - Elton John – Tiny Dancer
“Hold me close, young Tony Danza.” (Real lyric: “Hold me closer, tiny dancer”) - Nirvana – Smells Like Teen Spirit
