Redskins fans have a severe case of football fever: they haven’t been this excited about an NFL season in ages!

In case you missed it (and you’d have to be living under a rock if you did), there’s a new rookie quarterback in town and the expectations riding on his shoulders are higher than the Washington Monument!

• Is 22-year old Robert Griffin III (RG3) finally the answer to the Redskins woes?
• Can RG3 fill the void left by over a decade of disappointing and unreliable quarterbacks?
• Can RG3 help the Redskins win the NFC East for the first time since 1999?

In spite of the hype, RG3 is still just one guy and the Skins’ success ultimately boils down to a total team effort. Going into their third year under head coach Mike Shanahan after posting a 5-11 record last season, the Redskins looking to record their first winning season since 2007.

Fun Fact: 2012 marks the Redskins’ 80th year in the NFL

The Redskins ranked in at #24 in ESPN’s pre-season power rankings. ESPN the Magazine predicted the Redskins would go 2-14 this season. Redskins Nation can only hope they’re wrong!
