Spring Concerts in DC

Spring has officially sprung and so has a crop full of concerts in the nation’s capital that’ll propel you far into summer.  Whether you’re into the nightclub feel of Echostage, outdoor mega shows at Jiffy Lube Live, or Festivals at Merriweather Post Pavillion the DMV’s got it all. We’ve scouted out some of the best gigs here, but don’t stand around picking your nose, if you want to grab seats for one of these must see concerts—tickets are already on sale for nearly everything listed, and some are already sold out. (We’re definitely talking about you, Sweet Life Festival and Country Mega Ticket).  But don’t worry there’s always other ways to score tickets (Stubhub, Craigslist, beg, borrow, steal).

Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus Verizon Center

When: April 10, 2014
Where: Verizon Center
Tickets: Ticketmaster ($33.95-$108.00)

Don’t expect Disney channel princess Hannah Montana showing up at the ‘Bangerz’ tour.  Witness the twerking and tongue wagging up close and personal with special guest Icona Pop, this won’t be the PG Miley of yesterday.

Rick Ross

DC Concerts Rick Ross

When: April 11, 2014
Where: Echostage
Tickets: Ticketmaster ($50.00)

“Both physically and culturally very large” (according the his website) his voice sells, the way Sinatra once sold an implacable but supple kind of confidence.  With his record entitled ‘God Forgives, I Don’t’, I’d consider that a threat, so you’d better get your tickets pronto.

Carl Cox

DC Concerts Carl Cox

Get ready for another major Glow DC event.  As the very first winner of DJ Magazine’s prestigious Top 100 DJ poll in 1997, the ‘Three Deck Wizard’ himself, Carl Cox will be joined by one of the UK’s finest exports in electronic music, Nic Fanciulli, and head of his own record label (Younan Music) Saeed Younan all under the same roof.

Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga Pop Art Tour

Gaga’s ‘ARTPOP’ album (follow-up to ‘Born This Way’), debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, with the ARTPOP Ball in support of her album kicking off this spring.  If you’ve never seen Gaga in concert, it’s a must, full of surprises, and unmatched energy, the ARTPOP Ball should not be missed.

Machine Gun Kelly

MGK DC Spring Concerts

Perhaps the new Eminem, Machine Gun Kelly is made famous by penning rhymes about everything from addiction to family issues, MGK is a symbol of relentless perseverance to his fans and the MC is about to begin the next chapter of his already successful career.

Country Mega Ticket

DC Concerts Country Mega Ticket
When: May 17- September 20, 2014
Where: Jiffy Lube Live

Hee Haw! While Mega Show tickets nearly sold out, after all country music is the most popular music in the good ol’ US of A, this is a hot ticket.  If you can land a Megaticket, you’ll have access to an eight-show “package” featuring the summer’s hottest country shows at Jiffy Lube Live.

Benny Benassi

DC Concerts Benny Benassi

When: May 17, 2014
Where: Echostage
Tickets:  Want Tickets ($34.50)

Benny Benassi, who recently worked with Madonna and Chris Brown is an EDM show full of charisma, his dj style is easy to describe… it’s kinda electro, sort of house-tec, dirty and cool, sweaty and smooth.  This tour will surely bring you some ‘Satisfaction’.

Phoenix

DC Concerts Phoenix

French alternative rock band, Phoenix, brings a different flavor to Echostage.  They played at the Governor’s Ball, performed at the legendary Apollo Theatre in New York, played their new single ‘Entertainment’ on Saturday Night Live, and shared the stage with R.
