A new approach to nightlife in Washington DC
Bar-Cöde celebrates its 1 Year Anniversary
The highly anticipated November 2010 opening of Barcode Restaurant, Bar and Lounge brought with it a slightly new concept to DC nightlife.
While many DC restaurants, lounges and bars focus on one specific niche, Barcöde has attempted to penetrate three.
Catering to 21+ young professionals, the DC lounge has an extensive selection of bottled and draft beers, wines and specialty cocktails.
The kitchen, open ’til midnight, features reasonably priced American classics with a twist. Customer favorites include the Avocado Dip; the wide selection of brick oven, thin crust pizzas; and the Tiramisu.
The popular happy hour features half-off drink specials and carries into the night with DJs and sporting events and fights. The DC bar features ten 42″ HDTVs and two 70″ HD projectors.
Barcöde’s Tuesday happy-hour was voted Best in DC by the Washington Post!
Barcode’s 1 Year Anniversary event happens on Saturday November 5th and features complimentary cocktails and hors d’oeuvres from 10PM-11PM.
The party kicks-off with DJ Saam and DJ Kam on the decks! A Champagne toast will be held at midnight.

Comedy in DC
The Lighter Side of the Nation’s Capital
Washington DC has more of an uptight reputation, but insiders to the nightlife scene know it is much more crazy than what people see on CNN. Help lightening the mood is the comedy scene in DC.
Most notably, The Improv Comedy Club has been recognized as one of the nation’s premiere comedy venues. The Washington, DC location is one of 16 clubs around the United States, and some of the masters of comedy –Richard Pryor, Robin Williams, David Letterman, Jerry Seinfeld and Jay Leno– began right here at the DC Improv.
Much like a strip club, along with the ticket purchase the club require each guest to purchase two items off the menu, including food and beverages, alcohol or not. This is an easy goal to attain and all items are priced comparably to other restaurants or lounges in the District.
Some acts to definitely check out in the coming months are Kevin Nealon (Weeds, SNL), Jim Breuer (SNL, Half Baked), Steve-O (Jackass), Patrice ONeal (HBO, Showtime, Comedy Central), amongst others.
Other major comics like Chelsea Handler (Chelsea Lately, Girls Behaving Badly), Kathy Griffin, and Bob Saget (Full House) have also come through DC’s Warner Theater.

Seating for early shows is on a first come first serve basis and the doors open 90 minutes prior to show time. Seating for late shows on Fridays and Saturdays is assigned according to reservation number. Tickets may be picked up one hour before show time for the late show and seating begins at 10:00PM.
