Venue Overview

Lima’s upstairs Restaurant, known as Fujimar, is overseen by Executive Chef Reynold Mendizabal. A menu highlighted by fresh ceviche and sushi and select entrees has earned the restaurant high praise from patrons.

Upon entry, one is generally met by an attractive, European style crowd. The people may be diverse but the style is consistent; blazers, shoes, mini-skirts and high heels. Lima’s 20s & 30s crowd looks good and parties hard.

Spacious and fully equipped, the various gradients of Lima Lounge boast state-of-the-art sound systems, intelligent lighting, plush seating, ample dance space, digital projectors and intimate nooks to satisfy all moods.

Lima’s lounge provides two seating areas, a bar and projectors; the perfect place to get away from it all. With colorful lights and atmospheric pieces hanging from the ceiling, a dance floor with a 40 ft bar on one side and roped off VIP on the other, and a raised DJ booth; the main floor has hosted some of the world’s biggest acts.

From: Sweden

Style: Electro-house-pop

Famous Tracks: Unleash the Fucking Dada, Cookies with a Smile, Happy Hands and Happy Feet, Let’s Get Bleeped Tonight

Best Known For: Champagne and bananas

DJ Mag Rank: 89

It’s about fucking time the Swedish gruesome twosome known for doing reckless shit landed in a Washington DC nightclub.

Dada Life has exploded (literally and figuratively) over the past year. Infamous for their eccentric ways and bad-mouthing of Tiesto, the duo has certainly made a name for themselves in EDM. Of course, Tiesto responded to their sh*t-talking with a remix of Satisfaction entitled “Tiesto’s Revenche Towards Dada Life Mix.”

The Swedish electro standouts explain. “If 2010 was a pizza with all different kinds of yummy stuff, 2011 will be the year when it explodes and hits people in the face.”

The fans of bananas and champagne have brought a bit of childish glee to the sometimes po-faced world of electro. Who else, for instance, would ignore some of the more illicit pleasures offered them backstage in favour of bigging up the free chocolate bars available? It’s an attitude personified as much in the cheeky vibe of their massively successful single ‘Just Bleep Me’ as the funny faces they pull in their publicity shots.

2011 – The Year of the Dada
{tab=Bio}

We are Dada Life.

Destroy dance music and have fun. Don’t look back in the past. Always go forward. Don’t think too much. Always follow the money.

Do the Dada.

The result? Big tunes, no frills.{tab=Video}

George Garcia | Thursday Dec 2 at Glow @ Lima

From NY to DC nightlife, but he didn’t have to take the Chinatown bus. George Garcia arrived at GWU in 2006 on the back of a business degree, a pair of cleats and a mixer. He took no time in diving into the local house circuit, spinning at K Street Lounge, Eyebar, Lotus, Five and Indebleu. Within two years he found himself running parallel with those Chinatown buses, working residencies in NY at Azza Lounge and D’or as well as spinning here in The District. It was around that time he hung up the cleats and let the bass take over. 2009 saw George spinning everything from a Playboy fashion show to a US Tennis Association after party. He spun celebrity parties for everyone; Wimer Valderamma to Wu-Tang; Sean Kingston to Ovechkin.

His style? Tribal house with a flare for pop. His latest mix, ‘oE Summer Prescription’ contains tracks by Swedish House Mafia, Afrojack, Avicii, David Guetta, Yves LaRock, Steve Aoki and more. Everything is layered over the hypnotic pulse of tribal beats.

This Thursday Garcia makes his debut at what is arguably the #1 dance music event in the world, Glow. Voted ‘Best New Venue of 2010’ by Armin van Buuren and David Guetta, Glow at Lima provides the ultimate back drop for George Garcia’s pulsing, crowd friendly, go-crazy beats. It’s about time George truly arrived in DC nightlife!!

As a producer, singer, MC… scratch that. As an entertainer, Don Diablo has been making some extreme waves ever since inking a deal with Sony in 2008. He worked on the Public Enemy “Bring the Noise/Give it Up” remix project with Ferry Corsten and Benny Benassi. Benny ended up winning a Grammy for the remix.

Some cool facts about Don Diablo:

He works alone in the studio… because he prefers to work in the nude. That’s right, homeboy sits in front his mixer butt ass naked and produces MONSTERS (no pun intended!!)

He won the award for “Best Dressed Man of the Year” in 2007 by Esquire Magazine.

If you want to buy him a drink while he’s spinning make sure it’s milk. That’s all he drinks during a performance!!

MTV shot a documentary on Don’s work for Dance4Life, a UN sponsored campaign to fight against HIV and AIDS in Africa.

And now you know… Slick like a gato, straight outta GQ, a humanitarian and wild ass electro-hop master. See you on Thursday!!!!
