Dutch EDM legend Marco V will be in DC Thursday night to inspire us with yet another round of amazing music. We’re not quite sure how he has stayed so consistently good over the years… to the point where there’s no sense in wondering. We’ve just accepted the fact that Marco V is brilliant.

He’s been releasing music since ‘96 and you know what the scary part it? His latest batch of productions may just be his best!! Last year’s ‘Propaganda Pt. 1′ was off the charts, featuring the dance floor masher ‘Unprepared.’ Everyone and their mother was spinning that one. ‘Propaganda pt. 2′ was no less of a mind-blowing experience.

Thus far, 2010 has marked more furious studio sessions for the master of Dutch, house? progressive? trance? How about just the master of Dutch everything. With releases like Predator/Song in my Head, Coming Back, WTNF and remixes of Luvstruck 2010 and Spark, it’s almost scary to think about what he’s going to play at Lima. In fact, it’s scary to even think about a DJ of this magnitude at Lima. Wow!!! You want to see Lima packed harder than it’s ever been? Come see Marco V.

They hold residences at some of the most prestigious clubs in electronic music: Stereo Montreal, Pacha New York and Space Miami. They’ve remixes Madonna, Paris Hilton, Luzon and Deep Dish. They created the Iberican sound. And their set at last year’s Electric Zoo festival was the surprise hit of the weekend. DJs Chus & Ceballos are bringing their warm, tribal soundscapes laced with tech to Lima Lounge Thursday night. There’s a reason they’re mainstays in NY, Montreal and Miami. Come see why.

Boris comes to Club Glow this Thursday at Lima!

Boris at Club Glow this Thursday at Lima! The rich heritage of New York nightlife is focused on the figure of the resident DJ: The homegrown jock that puts down roots in a single venue, bonds with its crowd, and explores the limits of a DJ set with his faithful. The DJs who flourish in this demanding environment go on to become folk heroes, not only in New York, but all over the world (see Larry Levan, Danny Tenaglia, Junior Vasquez).

DJ Boris started his ascension to these ranks in 2004, when the native of St. Petersburg, Russia took up residence at New York super club Crobar. It was the culmination of years of workhorse gigging at almost every club across the Big Apple. But it was more than that too: It was a movement that has shown no signs of fading.

Boris (birth name: Boris Inzhin) started moonlighting as a DJ while taking classes at the Institute Of Audio Research in New York. With a metronomic mixing ability and a penchant for expansive, groove-based power-house music, the jock quickly found work both in DJ and production booths, playing at clubs like Exit, and Roxy, and remixing artists like Janet Jackson, Jewel and Gloria Estefan. In 2002, his mix of Pink’s “Get This Party Started” hit No.1 on the Billboard Hot Club Play chart.

That energy and history is what’s coming down to Lima this Thursday!  Its going to be one hell of a show with BORIS at Glow!

Shlomi Aber at LIMA — Glow Thursdays!

Over the past Two Years Shlomi’s had the kind of impact usually reserved for inbound meteors, the reason for which is buried in a ground swell of genre-defying appreciation and support. Be it Sven Vath, Carl Craig, Pete Tong, John Digweed, Richie Hawtin or Francois K, all are championing this young prodigy; a comment taken from a recent Radio 1 interview provides a probable insight as to why his productions are hitting such a broad mark, “No matter if it’s hard or soft, it just needs to touch your mind, body and soul at the same time. That’s what I call a ‘Good Record’.”

Catch him LIVE on Thursday Night at LIMA Restaurant and Lounge!

Glow is held every Thursday Night at Lima Nightclub DC, and every Saturday Night at Fur Nightclub DC.
