{tab=About Lee}
uk prior to 1991
Lee’s career started on December 26th 1985 in his fathers pub in the countryside of the South West of England. Never dreaming what laid ahead he started his career playing Birthdays, Weddings and the occasional funeral. Born from a decades passion for music and seeing it as an opportunity to get a girlfriend he spent the first few years playing 7″ records to everyone from age 5 -95. He was soon spotted by a local nightclub who snapped him up as their regular Saturday night DJ. This lead to being invited to other local nightclubs playing as he describes it ” a mix of the best of the worst music from the 80’s”. Lee’s path diverted in 1988 with the discovery of acid house. After attending some of the outdoor raves that were gaining momentum around London’s M25 motorway Lee’s passion for music was turned on it’s head and he felt excited in a way never felt before. “I had to find this music” he said and started to collect the first records which have grown from the one red plastic record box of 1988 to over 35,000 records today. Lee and friends started to organize small club and beach events where he lived but getting to play these big raves proved difficult. Not living in London or knowing anyone involved made Lee just another Dj handing out mix tapes to anyone and everyone whom would listen to them. “I’m not sure what would have happened if I’d been asked to play back then as in 1990 my life really changed direction”.
Hong Kong and Thailand 1991 -1997
Lee was spotted by a club owner from Hong Kong in 1990 and left the UK early in 1991 to work as a DJ there. During the first six months it became apparent that Hong Kong’s underground dance music scene was non existent and Lee spent the next few years changing all that. Small Sunday night parties for 250 people grew quickly into a thriving nightclub scene which constantly saw him playing marathon sets on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. Overseas DJ’s and club nights started to grace the shores of Hong Kong as it became one of those happening destinations on the global DJ circuit. This continued throughout the 90’s. Lee’s residency at the now defunkt Big Apple and Neptunes nightclubs became so popular he DJ’d six night a week for three years until eventually deciding to leave in 97. The decision was made after playing with Sasha and Craig Richards on numerous occasions and having them offer to launch his career in the UK.
Also during the 90’s Lee ventured to Haadrin, Thailand. Haadrin is now a mecca for clubbers and it’s full moon parties attract 10,000 + people every month. Lee arrived in February 1992 after hearing about it from travelers who passed through Hong Kong. The full moon party at this point consisted of the drum circles around open fires on the beach and a DJ playing tapes in one of the bars. Lee decided to fly back to Hong Kong and come back with records and turntables while the Thai people organized a sound system. Lee stayed for 3 months at a time playing and helping to grow the parties which were held every week leading up to the main party on the beach each month for full moon. “This was always something that was going to happen in Haadrin” states Lee “I was just lucky enough to have been there very early on while the parties grew. I wouldn’t credit myself with being the first person playing dance music in Haadrin. That right goes to a fantastic DJ who went by the name of Backyard Dave but I was definitely one of the first few playing records on the beach there. We didn’t have a proper DJ box, just decks set up on a plank of wood balanced on beer crates with some palm tree leaves above to protect us if it rained! I regularly was electrocuted by the mixer when it got damp” Lee continued to visit the Island every year until 99 and stayed for months to experience the privalidged position of playing sunrise on the beach each full moon and at the Backyard club which he cites as one of the most special places in the world ever to have played at.
Back to the UK 1997 – present day
On the recommendation of Craig and Sasha Lee returned to the UK but it wasn’t an easy first year. Craig Richards ran a highly successful party in London which he invited Lee to play several times but without contacts or an agent Lee was a relative unknown and it took time to become recognized. Fortunately with strong and consistent appearances at Craigs night and then the launch of the Tyrant night featuring Lee alongside both Sasha and Craig Lee’s career really started taking off. Offers to play other leading UK clubs such as Cream, Golden, Ministry of Sound etc lead to Lee being offered to mix a CD for Hooj Chons mixing the breakbeat tracks on their label. Lee was asked to have the mix done by the next morning so no computer trickery here, just two decks a mixer and the records. He was also asked that year to mix his first solo CD (this time with tracks of his own choice). The compilation went down very well with the magazines. Tyrant was also picking up speed with a regular monthly party in both London and Nottingham. Lee and Craig were left to their own devices on several occasions with Sasha unable to make it and throwing them in the deep end. Would a packed house expecting to see Sasha be disappointed? The answer was clearly no as the crowd kept coming back month after month. In 1999 The first Tyrant compilation was released and won album of the month in every single magazine. This mix has stood the test of time and still sounds as fresh today as it did back then. Sasha decided to bow out of Tyrant after a few years and Lee and Craig continue, to this day, to confound and twist the heads of the people who hear them play .A Tyrant mix was featured on the UK’s Radio One live from the Homelands festival as well as the duo being invited to do an essential mix fro Pete Tong. Lee and Craig as Tyrant held down a monthly night at Fabric in London almost from the day it opened until the end of 2005 when Lee embarked his 365 project.
Lee decided to try and make more sense of his unrelenting travel in 2005 at which point the 365 project was born. It was an idea Lee had had to expand the impact a DJ would have by setting up shop in seven countries/cities for one or two months over 365 days. While in each location he became resident of a club and hosted at least four parties to grow the relationship and understanding between himself and each crowd. To learn more himself as well as expose each crowd to his unique music selection and Djing style. In each place he also set aside time to work alongside local producers and write music. Lee’s residencies were held in New York, Ibiza, Florence, Buenos Aires, Sydney, Denver and Hong Kong. He also kept a journal which was published online for each city by DJmag.com each month describing the unusual and unhinged lifestyle that is his. The project was a great success and after a few months break Lee returned to New York in Fall 2006 and expanded the 365 residency to 4 months. This is an ongoing project which could land in a city near you soon!
He has continued to release widely regarded and much loved underground mix CD’s for companies like Global Underground, Everybody and most recently Balance. He is also a yearly visiter to Miami’s winter music conference where for the last three years he has held his own party where he takes the controls and messes with your mind for seven hours. The party has gone from strength to strength and this year had to be moved to a larger venue due to outgrowing BED. The ‘Barrage’ Pawn shop party was mentioned as one of the parties of the conference.Lee continues to play the major festivals of the world from Notting Hill carnivals famous Sancho Panza stage to Exit festival, Creamfields and Homelands, Coachella, Love Parade, Dance Valley, Ultra, Acafest and in the last few years Burning Man which he cites as the best event he’s ever been to in twenty five years of going out. 2008 will see him visiting the Virgin festival in Toronto for the first time.
Production.
Lee was involved in Fire recordings during the nineties but is really a latecomer to producing citing laziness and studio fear as causes. His first solo production was the Lost and Found Ep on Fire which was instantly licensed to James Lavelles Global Underground, Tyrant 2 (although Lee said he felt a bit weird putting one of his own tracks on a compilation), Cass’s Prologue and Sancho Panza’s carnival CD. Not a bad start! As Tyrant they remixed UNKLE and Lee set up Almost Anonymous in 2006 which was “simply a label for releasing tracks made on the 365 tour”. Tracks alongside Dan F, Andy Page and Steve Porter were released through 2007.
2007 to present.
Lee’s most recent triple mix CD for Balance was released in Fall 2007 to critical aclaim. Ranking as compilation of the month across many many publications and websites it then went nominated for compilation of the year at the PLUG awards. Lee’s tour to support the CD ran through into 2008 covering most of the world and back.
Projects in 2008 include a new set of parties called ‘GET WEIRD’ which will start out as residencies on the left and right coast in San Francisco and New York. A return to the Burning Man festival in the Nevada desert will see him warping minds at various parties as well as this year his own sound system. Lee is also going back in the studio to “take it a bit more seriously this time” alongside new studio guru Tim Green (TG). Expect some wonky and weird music to see the light of day towards the end of 2008.
On a last note Lee has regularly been described as a DJ’s DJ and I asked the ever popular journalistic question “Describe the music you play”? I asked . He said he usually doesn’t have an answer to have an answer but narrowed it down at least. “The records that can’t really be described. Those are the ones that always interest me. Wonky, Wobbly, bassline driven, trippy, melodic, mean, nasty, gentle, deep, spacious, distant and rocking.Interesting not obvious. Those are some of the words that I’d use to describe the records in my box”.

{tab=About Abel Ramos}
When a house music legend like Roger Sanchez names his Breakthrough DJ/Producer of 2009, it’s time to sit up and take notice – meet Abel Ramos.
Born in February 1973 and raised in Madrid, Abel started DJing at a local club, aged just 15, playing anything that was synth-driven from Human League to Nitzer Ebb or Acid House.
It didn’t take long for Abel to establish himself as one of Spain’s most talented DJs, catching the ears of thousands along the way and winning awards such as Best National DJ from Spain’s answer to Mixmag, ‘Deejay Magazine’, gaining top gigs for the likes of Sensation, Rock In Rio, Global Gathering, and frequenting places as far afield as Australia. Abel has also established his SOLO event, which now attracts over 5000 people to the yearly show.
Not content with just playing the music of his heroes to local fans, Abel started producing music, which meant his sound could now reach audiences outside of the Spanish borders. It wasn’t long before Abel’s hard, techy beats were catching the attention of producers and labels throughout the world, including Swedish hotshot Axwell, who signed one of his first productions, ‘Rotterdam City of Love’ to his label, Axtone, after hearing the track being played in a club in Madrid. This track really opened up Abel’s sound to a generation of new producers: the groove just worked on the floor and everybody wanted a piece of the action.
Axwell was also instrumental in getting Abel’s remix of Fatboy Slim’s ‘Right Here, Right Now’ signed to Skint, as the Swedish House Mafia were playing it continuously in their sets. Soon label head of Skint, Dave Philpot, was being bombarded with requests to license the track and he requested a copy to play to Norman Cook, who liked it so much he decided to give it an official release.
Then when Abel didn’t think it was possible for things to get any better, an email arrived in his inbox from David Guetta, expressing how much he liked his work and asking him if he would be interested in remixing two of his tracks, ‘When Love Takes Over’ and ‘Sexy Bitch’. Both went on to sell thousands of copies around the world, making Abel one of the most in-demand remixers in the world.
Not content with setting dancefloors on fire with his DJing skills and productions, Abel also infects the radio waves, hosting a weekly radio program called Concept Music on one of Spain’s most popular radio stations, LocaFM.
2010 has been a year loaded with work for Abel Ramos. Following his intense workload as remixer, he has finally set aside valuable time in the study to concentrate on his own production’s. This material will mainly be released on his With Love Music, imprint in collaboration with Spinnin’Records. The first release “Dream Come True” featuring UK vocalist Erire has captivated the attention of many of his peers.
Some of the highlights so far have been his productions for Toolroom, King Street Sound, Juicy Music and Nervous, as remixer and the releasing original material.
Not forgetting his Dj performances around the globe appearances at festivals and clubs such as Rock In Madrid, Global Gathering Poland, Amnesia Ibiza, Stereo Montreal, Queen Paris, Space Miami, Roxy Prague or Discotheque Moscow, to name a few. In addition to realizing his first tour in Brazil with 10 performances at some of the best clubs in the country.
With all the above already to his name, like the S-Man predicted, Abel is more than capable of making it to the top.

With a career that has spanned over 15 years, Boris has come to represent everything that’s right about house music. His tenure at clubs across the country is matched only by legends such as DJ Dan, Danny Tenaglia and Junior Vasquez. His producing and engineering skills are the crème de la crème in any group of musicians.

With a list like that, there isn’t much more that needs to be said.

{tab=Music}
{tab=About Boris}
The rich heritage of New York nightlife is focused on the figure of the resident DJ: The homegrown jock that puts down roots in a single venue, bonds with its crowd, and explores the limits of a DJ set with his faithful. The DJs who flourish in this demanding environment go on to become folk heroes, not only in New York, but all over the world (see Larry Levan, Danny Tenaglia, Junior Vasquez).
DJ Boris started his ascension to these ranks in 2004, when the native of St. Petersburg, Russia took up residence at New York super club Crobar. It was the culmination of years of workhorse gigging at almost every club across the Big Apple. But it was more than that too: It was a movement that has shown no signs of fading.
Boris (birth name: Boris Inzhin) started moonlighting as a DJ while taking classes at the Institute Of Audio Research in New York. With a metronomic mixing ability and a penchant for expansive, groove-based power-house music, the jock quickly found work both in DJ and production booths, playing at clubs like Exit, and Roxy, and remixing artists like Janet Jackson, Jewel and Gloria Estefan. In 2002, his mix of Pink’s “Get This Party Started” hit No.1 on the Billboard Hot Club Play chart.
His relentless approach to bring his cult of followers the best sound and experience possible has taken his production to even greater heights. Powerhouse industry labels like *69 Records, and Stereo Productions have wasted no time in signing Boris projects to their labels. Dancefloor missiles like “Automatic,” “Everybody Tweakin’,” “Lights Go Out,” and Lisa Pure’s “Movin On” have been embraced by a culture of beat aficionados, in and out of the many clubs DJ Boris has grown to call home.
And if home is where your heart is then Boris must be endowed with a heart the size of North America. His movement has rewarded him with residencies in every major city. Now a regular on the city’s club circuit, the name of Boris started to become associated with unapologetically massive music: big drums, big riffs, huge build-ups and lots of energy. Propelled by the promise of a great party experience and by a growing affection for the approachable DJ and his humble manner, his crowd swelled. By the time Boris debuted at mega club Crobar in May 2004, his faithful numbered in the thousands, united under a spontaneously created banner: “Believe in Boris.” Boys stamped it on their T-shirts in masking tape, girls Sharpied it on their flesh, and eventually Crobar flashed it on their video screens: A battle cry for a clubber’s revolution.
While at Crobar, Boris set the 30,000-square-foot club’s attendance record (a swinging-from-the-rafters 5,400), released his first mixed compilation (aptly titled “Believe”), and started to gig regularly outside of NYC, in markets like Miami, and Las Vegas. In 2006, when it became apparent that Crobar would close, Boris uprooted and moved his crowd 20 blocks north to Pacha New York, the first North American branch of the fabled European club brand, without missing a beat. He is still a Pacha resident.
Boris’ faithful service to the clubbers of New York has been rewarded with two Club World Award “Best Resident DJ” nominations (one while at Crobar, and one while at Pacha), a DJ Times cover story, a top 5 finish in the national America’s Best DJ fan poll, and a new residency at super club Space in Miami. Add this to the already accomplished residencies he holds at Rise in Boston, Therapy in Rhode Island, as well as his regular appearances at Ruby Skye in San Francisco, 960 in Connecticut, Deko Lounge in New Jersey. He’s also become one of the reigning kings of Winter Music Conference week, throwing massive pool parties by day and after-hours marathons by night for thousands of fans. The spoils of success have not halted his enthusiastic work ethic either. His ongoing pursuit to creatively, and musically express himself to those who adore him, has no doubtedly outgrown our own country’s limited borders. With his global campaign as New York’s premiere DJ underway, believers can be found from all corners of the planet. Venezuala, Colombia, Marrakech, Barcelona, Madrid, Ibizia, London, Montreal, Mexico, and Toronto have all been blessed with his energetically extreme beat orchestration. Boris and his team are currently planning the release of his fourth mixed compilation, and a series of European, and South American dates to compliment his tremendous ability in the studio.
So world, New York wants to know: Are you ready to believe in Boris?

There’s an artist album lurking somewhere, and we’re a little angry with Luke for not releasing it yet! Then again, we can’t really complain. The things Laidback Luke is doing behind the decks are just mind bending. He has been able to blend nearly every genre of dance music into a strong flowing set. His crowd interaction is among the best, the beats bang, the energy is there, what more can we say?
Laidback Luke, at #17 in the world, may be one of the most underrated DJs out there!

Laidback Luke feat. Lady Bee – Mortal Comeback (Original Mix) by LaidbackLuke
{tab=Bio}
In 2010 Dutch dynamo Laidback Luke is so supercharged and all over your body that it hurts. Blasting your bassbins with blockbuster beats, making your heads spin with his hybrid house styles, even cramping up your hands as you scroll down his discography! Recently, he’s worked with David Guetta, Diplo, A-Trak, Steve Aoki and Lil Jon, and remixed everyone from Black Eyed Peas to Calvin Harris and from Christina Aquilera to Moby. There have been three nominations for Luke in the Beatport Music Awards – and an International Dance Music Award (IDMA) gong in the Best House/Garage Track category for his work on ‘Leave The World Behind’. He’s sold out his own brand Super You&Me parties at Miami WMC. Plus, he’s invited to join Cream for some Super You&Me events at Amnesia in Ibiza. All this while kick-starting a compilation series, with Laidback Luke presents Super You&Me featuring Avicii, via his own label, Mixmash Records, and still finding time to give the next generation of music makers a leg-up through his forum, at www.laidbackluke.com. He’s got over 30,000 followers on Twitter, is sent 12GB+ of promos every week, and boards more than 160 flights per year – without breaking a sweat. Sure his name is Laidback, however when the music’s jumping he’s anything but…
Born in the Philippines, raised in the Netherlands, as a kid Luke loved guitars, graffiti, house and hip-hop, taking the ‘laid back’ tag from Snoop Dogg’s ‘Gin & Juice’. He had a mentor in Dobre (Chocolate Puma) and by 1996 was releasing tracks, remixing for established artists and DJing professionally. He even beat a Dutch DMC champ in battle. His first album came in 1999, and when Virgin locked down ‘Rocking With The Best’, then released his 2002 album, Electronic Satisfaction, his profile really soared. Following this he remixed the likes of Daft Punk, Murk, Oliver Lieb and Tom Stephan, introduced his own label, Mixmash, and went on to hook up with Steve Angello to remix ‘Sexy F**k’ and co-produce ‘Otherwize Then’. He also joined forces with the Swedish House Mafia on ‘Get Dumb’ and signed tracks to Angello’s Size, while ‘Rocking With The Best 2007′ blew up on Mixmash. Around this time his superhero-themed residency – Super You&Me – took off at Amsterdam club Paradiso. It was followed by another epic 12 months that saw Luke release five tracks and 18 remixes, ignite the Stealth Live! CD series with a near perfect club mix, host a weekly show on Radio FG, and perform almost 200 international DJ sets – including a BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix. It was also the year that witnessed him making a massive mark on Ibiza. After performing at all the top clubs, he produced/remixed every track on his Ibiza Closing Party mix for Mixmag and ended 2008 on another high: with ‘Show Me Love’ (by Luke and Steve Angello featuring Robin S), which entered both the Buzz and Cool Cuts Charts, and even reached # 11 in the UK’s official singles chart. Moving into 2009, his collaboration with the Swedish House Mafia on ‘Leave The World Behind’ became an Essential New Tune on Pete Tong’s Miami show and one of Beatport’s best-selling tracks. His Super You&Me party during WMC was also a huge hit, starring Diplo and A-Trak. Consequently Luke and Diplo produced ‘Hey’, which was supported by DJs like Kissy Sell Out on Radio 1. Of course, Luke’s remix skills continued to be in hot demand too, by, among others, David Guetta, Tiësto, Black Eyed Peas, Dizzee Rascal, Depeche Mode and MSTRKRFT. In fact, mash-ups like his remix of the Black Eyed Peas’ ‘I Got A Feeling’ with La Roux’s ‘In For The Kill’, his very own ‘My G*O*D* (My Guns On Demo)’ and Luke and Lee Mortimer’s ‘Blau!’ blitzed the globe from Australia to Ibiza, where he was nominated for best House DJ at the DJ Awards. As a result, he landed a #27 slot in DJ magazine’s Top 100 DJs Poll of 2009.
Performing and producing relentlessly and innovating musically as an artist like nobody else has propelled Luke and his superhuman fusion of hyperdrivehousestep&ghettojacktrancebass to stratospheric new heights over the last couple of years. In 2010, he’s already remixed Wynter Gordon’s ‘Dirty Talk’, as well as Ferry Corsten, Calvin Harris and Moby, and his own projects, like ‘Till Tonight’ feat. Jonathan Mendelsohn, and ‘Turbulence’ by Luke and Steve Aoki feat. Lil Jon, have gone global. So what more can the new decade bring for our r-evolutionary rebel? Well, with the crazy energy that he conveys and the martial arts that he practises, rest assured it will be out of this world. Yes, our fresh-faced superhero has good ‘kung fu’, always keeping an ear to the ground while his creativity rockets skyward. Luke, we salute you!

Best Known For: Breakthrough DJ of the 2010 – Axwell
Named breakthrough DJ of the year by Axwell in the most recent DJ Mag Top 100 poll, Gold is one of the lucky few to be championed by Ax and his fellow Swedish House Mafia Dons. If you take a listen to Gold’s music, you’ll realize you know many of his tracks. All the big dogs spin them, and now we’ve got Gold himself in DC to drop some big room melodic bombs with grit all over Lima Lounge!
{tab=Bio}
The changing pace at which Thomas Gold’s year has taken shape has been literally breathtaking for the Berlin based artist. Not surprising then that Thomas was quickly snapped up by mammoth recording imprint Toolroom Records, who invited him to join their thoroughbred team of talent; as both a recording artist and resident DJ for their infamous ‘Toolroom Knights’ events alongside the likes of Fedde le Grand and Mark Knight. This strong start hasn’t gone unnoticed on the dancefloor either. 24 months on from breaking through into the international spotlight Thomas has nestled himself into the CD wallets of such luminaries as Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso, Tiësto, David Guetta, Chuckie, John Dahlbäck and Sander van Doorn, whilst discovering equal support at club level by regularly chalking headlining slots at prestigious venues like Pacha, Privilege and Ministry of Sound.
His year has continued to prevail with similar successes as recent productions like his smash EP ‘Work That / Kananga’ on Toolroom led the download charts for a handful of weeks, before being followed by his collaboration with house supremo Fatboy Slim. Titled ‘Star 69’, the track rapidly ascended the Beatport progressive house chart to claim the #4 spot. His next release saw him teaming up with Italy’s Alex Kenji and resulted in ‘What’s Up’, which released through the legendary Spinnin’ records went onto pick up genre crossing support from the likes of Marco V, Bingo Players, Riley & Durrant, Tocadisco and Robbie Rivera.
Recent months have seen Thomas leading a sleepless existence through a busy production schedule and gruelling tour diary that so far has taken in Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Japan, India, Dubai, Russia, Canada, America and a host of destinations across Europe. This purple patch in his career has seen some of Thomas’ biggest standout releases and projects come to the fore. Such has been the impression of his music of late that many of his recent productions have found themselves being snapped up by the artist labels of Swedish House Mafia’s Steve Angello (SIZE) and Axwell (Axtone). Australia’s leading house star Dirty South also signed Thomas’ new single ‘Areena’, a collaboration with David Tort and David Gausa, to his Phazing Recordings imprint. However, it is perhaps his third release on Toolroom Records that is causing the most stir among his fans. With a familiar cymbal and snare drum combination creating an hypnotic marching beat, ‘Marsch Marsch’ is an unusual yet arresting track that delivers with a killer piano melody – which explains the reason it has been one of the biggest tracks bubbling in his sets for the last few weeks.
On reflection all this recent success had to stem from somewhere and that point of origin was when Thomas was a curious 7 years old. Taught to play the electronic organ as a child, Thomas soon found interest in digital synthesizers and from here his passion soared. Aged 15 he purchased his first ever piece of studio equipment – a Yamaha DX-11 synthesizer – and has not looked back since.
In three short years Thomas Gold has built an impressive back catalogue. On top of a solo releases, his remix work has been so successful that today his credits read like the who’s who of the global dance scene with names such as David Guetta, Fergie feat. LMFAO, David Tort, Norman Doray, Erick Morillo and Paul van Dyk to his repertoire.
Soaring high with his music has led to further more successes with Beatport; who in 2009 nominated him in their ‘Best Progressive House artist’ category. He eventually went on to win the coveted award for ‘Best Progressive House Track’ for his remix of Delerium ‘Silence’.
The magic you hear in his productions is just as evident in his DJ sets. With a sound that is just at home in the big room environment of a festival or dance arena, as it is in the more personal surroundings of club lands grittier underground settings. It is little wonder then that Thomas’ diary is one that has already taken in many of the world’s best venues such from Mansion and Cameo Miami to Space and current World #1 club Sankeys in Manchester, whilst touring has seen him circumnavigated the planet with rousing appearances throughout Asia, Australia, Europe, Middle East and North and South America.
Thomas Gold is definitely THE name to look out for in 2011!
