Valentine’s Day in DC
Whether your status is single, taken, or the vague “It’s Complicated,” there is always something to do in the district on Valentine’s Day. This year the lovely holiday falls on an even lovelier Sunday – we say lovelier not just because of the lame pun, but because having it on a Sunday means your choices for what to do have expanded to include full-day, whole weekend, or Saturday night adventures! Perfect. Here are our picks for what to do:
Coco Sala
This place was MADE for Valentine’s Day. If you want to splurge a little and treat your significant other, this is most definitely the place to be. Their usual menu includes chocolate based drinks and sculpted desserts, we can’t even imagine what they have in store for the 14th. Make a reservation asap if you want any chance of eating there Sunday night. Image courtesy of districtweddings.com

Dinner Cruise or Champagne Brunch on the Potomac
This option is swanky as sh*t. The brunch is a mid-morning cruise that is exactly what it sounds like: a buffet style brunch with a champagne toast for $70 per person. The dinner is basically the same thing but later in the day (obv), includes a bouquet of roses, and runs you around $120 per person ($140 if you book it for Valentine’s Day instead of the night before). Be My Valentine at Ultrabar
Don’t have anyone to celebrate with? Grab a few people and head to Ultrabar – dance the night away and maybe make some new friends. Great drink specials, 4 DJs, and 5 floors of music and dancing – how can’t you have a good time? And, hey, who knows: you could meet your Valentine!

Ice Skating
Classic. This one is easy, inexpensive, and a lot of fun. Nothing like falling on your ass to break the ice with a new beau (pun not intended). Refer to our last post about where to go and how much to spend.

Last year, the run raised over $3.3 million towards #EndNF and this year they plan to top it. Register now and pay just $40 to enter and feel good about your plans. Bonus: an “earned open bar” after the race. Cheers!

Weekend Getaway
We know, we know – we JUST talked about this in our last post, but Snowshoe has incredible deals for weekend stays and it’s only a 4 hour drive there. For just $69 per person you get lodging and 2-days of lift tickets. Spend some time away and hit the slopes for a weekend? Not too shabby for a mini-vaca. Image courtesy of snowshowmtn.com
