Opening Set by Jon Deke
Thursday, August 12 2010 at Lima Restaurant & Lounge
1401 K St NW Washington DC
Doors Open at 10pm, Ages 21+
As a producer, singer, MC… scratch that. As an entertainer, Don Diablo has been making some extreme waves ever since inking a deal with Sony in 2008. He worked on the Public Enemy “Bring the Noise/Give it Up” remix project with Ferry Corsten and Benny Benassi. Benny ended up winning a Grammy for the remix.
Some cool facts about Don Diablo:
He works alone in the studio… because he prefers to work in the nude. That’s right, homeboy sits in front his mixer butt ass naked and produces MONSTERS (no pun intended!!)
He won the award for “Best Dressed Man of the Year” in 2007 by Esquire Magazine.
If you want to buy him a drink while he’s spinning make sure it’s milk. That’s all he drinks during a performance!!
MTV shot a documentary on Don’s work for Dance4Life, a UN sponsored campaign to fight against HIV and AIDS in Africa.
And now you know… Slick like a gato, straight outta GQ, a humanitarian and wild ass electro-hop master. See you on Thursday!!!!

Joachim Garraud is one of a kind, that’s for sure. Trained classically, Garraud discovered his calling in electronic music in his late teen/early twenties. He was one of the first EDM artists in the world to incorporate live instruments into his DJ sets. He wanted to bring a true musical experience to the club.
He co-founded the ‘F*** Me I’m Famous’ label. He’s been at it for the last 10 years; engineering, mixing, recording, receiving Grammy nominations and putting the brand on the map. His space-invaders-themed shows are legendary in Europe.
2010 sees an affiliation with ultra hip electro thump master Steve Aoki’s Dim Mak label as well as a deal with Unlimited Productions (Tiesto, Corsten) that will take his Space Invaders themed DJ act to the next level. Get ready Glow!!!!

One of the few American DJs to make such a large splash in the global EDM community, Wolfgang Gartner is busier than most. Just read his Twitter and/or facebook updates! The man not only lives out his amazing life through social media, but he’s actually quite accessible to fans. Over the past few months he’s been everywhere from the UK to Brazil, up to Canada and now across his home turf. He has also been in the process of upgrading his studio and producing new music. Busy busy man!!!
So busy in fact, that he barely has time to go after people trying to steal his name!! That’s right, certain remixes of Lady Gaga and Rihanna may have his name on it, but they hardly have his mark of quality. So don’t be fooled!!!! Imitation is the highest form of flattery, right? Riiiiight. Check out some of WG’s hottest productions in the music section and we’ll see you this Thursday!!!

Avatar Theme whaaat?!?!?!! More in a minute… first read this…
Cosmic Gate are the reason a lot of us started listening to EDM in the first place. Their 2000 hit ‘Exploration of Space’ took the sound from ‘Sandstorm’ and made it good. Made it epic. Made it trance.*sigh* Great memories. And the best part about the great memories of Cosmic Gate??? They’re creating fresh ones every single day. If 2000 marked the release of Exploration, and 2009 was their busiest year to date, what does that tell you? Their 2009 ‘Sign of the Times’ album required release parties for multiple cities on nearly every continent. It was that huge.
2010 is shaping up to be just as busy as last year. With a compilation and 2 tracks already out, CG has been touring, touring and you guessed it, touring. Oh, did we mention that one of those tracks was the remix of the Avatar Theme?!?!?!? Let’s just repeat that. COSMIC GATE REMIXED AVATAR.
if you want to hear it just click the music tab. Saturday is going to be straight BANANAS!!!

Opening Set by Roberto Gonzalez

Doors Open at 10pm, Ages 21+
He’s been releasing music since ‘96 and you know what the scary part it? His latest batch of productions may just be his best!! Last year’s ‘Propaganda Pt. 1′ was off the charts, featuring the dance floor masher ‘Unprepared.’ Everyone and their mother was spinning that one. ‘Propaganda pt. 2′ was no less of a mind-blowing experience.
Thus far, 2010 has marked more furious studio sessions for the master of Dutch, house? progressive? trance? How about just the master of Dutch everything. With releases like Predator/Song in my Head, Coming Back, WTNF and remixes of Luvstruck 2010 and Spark, it’s almost scary to think about what he’s going to play at Lima. In fact, it’s scary to even think about a DJ of this magnitude at Lima. Wow!!! You want to see Lima packed harder than it’s ever been? Come see Marco V.
