From: Sweden

Style: Electro-house-pop

Famous Tracks: Unleash the Fucking Dada, Cookies with a Smile, Happy Hands and Happy Feet, Let’s Get Bleeped Tonight

Best Known For: Champagne and bananas

DJ Mag Rank: 89

It’s about fucking time the Swedish gruesome twosome known for doing reckless shit landed in a Washington DC nightclub.

Dada Life has exploded (literally and figuratively) over the past year. Infamous for their eccentric ways and bad-mouthing of Tiesto, the duo has certainly made a name for themselves in EDM. Of course, Tiesto responded to their sh*t-talking with a remix of Satisfaction entitled “Tiesto’s Revenche Towards Dada Life Mix.”

The Swedish electro standouts explain. “If 2010 was a pizza with all different kinds of yummy stuff, 2011 will be the year when it explodes and hits people in the face.”

The fans of bananas and champagne have brought a bit of childish glee to the sometimes po-faced world of electro. Who else, for instance, would ignore some of the more illicit pleasures offered them backstage in favour of bigging up the free chocolate bars available? It’s an attitude personified as much in the cheeky vibe of their massively successful single ‘Just Bleep Me’ as the funny faces they pull in their publicity shots.

2011 – The Year of the Dada
{tab=Bio}

We are Dada Life.

Destroy dance music and have fun. Don’t look back in the past. Always go forward. Don’t think too much. Always follow the money.

Do the Dada.

The result? Big tunes, no frills.{tab=Video}

Enferno + Chachi: Sat 4/2 [Glow at Fur]

GLOW Washington DC presents:

DJ Enferno

DJ Chachi
twitter.com/dj_chachi

Saturday, April 2 2011
Fur Nightclub 33 Patterson St NE
Doors Open at 10pm, Ages 18+

{tab=Show Preview}

From: DC, NYC

Style: Mash-up/house/top 40

Best Known For: Enferno – Touring with Madonna on her Sticky and Sweet Tour, creating the Live Remix Project | Chachi – Producing ‘Love is Blind’ with Alicia Keys.

House music’s foray into the mainstream is evidenced by your 2011 PoP! Nightlife at Ultrabar residents. Originally pigeonholed under the ‘hip-hop/rock/mash-up’ bubble, these guys have managed to break conventional barriers and lay everything down to the sexy pulse of house music. And lay it down well!

This is not pop. This is Glow!

DJ Enferno, a DC native, won the 2003 US DMC Championship and was runner-up in the international competition that same year. He is one of the most technically gifted DJs in the world. Past DMC champs from the EDM world include Bad Boy Bill and A-Trak. As of late, Enferno has been on a remix tear, delivering a crazy variety meshing elements of Dutch house, melodic/uplifting house and electro into something completely unique.

Chachi’s NY roots have inspired him to release some of the dopest mash-up mixtapes around. His ‘Split Personalities” series throws the freshest music into a boiling pot, mixes it up and serves it over a bed of thumping house rhythms. When Chachi spins, he truly is the life of the party.

{tab=Bio}

ENFERNO
The word “pioneer” is tossed around a lot these days. Unfortunately, most of the time its used to describe those undeserving of the title. Not the case with DJ Enferno. His story started out like so many others – a young man with an ear for good music and some untapped talent playing the local circuit while creating a buzz for himself. That’s about as typical as the story would be. See, Enferno put those skills to work by entering the world of competitive DJing. After placing as a finalist against the best in the country, he went on to win his first U.S. DMC Championship the very next year in 2003 – the first from his hometown to do so. The humble kid from DC went on to represent the United States in the World DJ Championship placing first runner-up. A national title and global recognition wouldn’t stop Enferno. Always the innovator, he went to work creating a new type of performance that would soon set the bar for DJs everywhere. Enter the Live Remix Project – a one-man symphony featuring an array of turntables, instruments, effects and samplers, that combines on-the-spot music creation with the energy of a live audience. The Live Remix Project quickly became a hit and with the merits and accolades came notoriety. Enferno was on the move, playing clubs all over the U.S., Europe, and Asia while making impressions and connecting with fans directly. As the masses took notice, so did his peers. So much so that in 2008, Madonna approached him to be a part of what would become one of the most successful world tours in history – The Sticky & Sweet Tour. Time spent traveling the world with the most successful pop star of our time while entertaining millions (yes, millions) of fans further established Enferno’s reputation as one of the world’s most innovative live performers. Life on the road as a full-time DJ is a lot of action, but it wasn’t enough. How could he take his encyclopedia-like musical knowledge and award winning technical skills to the next level and create something truly original? How could he give back to the craft that gave him so much and be a pioneer? Enferno is once again changing the game by producing some of the coldest beats out. In a few short years, he went from remixing songs on his laptop while on tour to one of the industry’s most sought after up and coming producers, banging out tracks for some of the most influential artists in the world. And he’s not even close to finished. Once in a generation a mind comes along that really pushes the envelope and maxes out the potential of its available resources, technology, talent and skill. Enferno is that mind, bringing about change to a lost genre desperately looking to find its way. Call it evolution …

CHACHI
New York-based DJ Chachi recently sent out a message on Facebook offering fans a free gift bag with CDs, t-shirts and assorted other merchandise. He prepared 12 bags; a few extra than he thought he needed just to be on the safe side. Within 24 hours, over 300 people from across the country flooded his inbox with requests. “Years ago, I didn’t realize this deejaying thing had legs and I had no idea how far the rabbit hole would go,” says the 26-year-old deejay. “Back then, success was just trying not to get screwed out of money. Now that things are going well, I don’t take it for granted. I don’t expect people to know who I am.” Too late. What started over a decade ago at small private parties in Long Island is now a full-time job, as Chachi continues to establish himself as one of the country’s most formidable deejays. Utilizing a diverse, open-format approach to music, Chachi now holds court at some of the country’s most popular clubs, as well as providing the aural memories to countless celebrities’ birthdays (that was Chachi you heard if you were fortunate enough to get into Britney Spears’ bash at Tenjune). In a short period of time, DJ Chachi has become as famous as the celebrities that rock out to him. When he was 13, a young DJ Chachi would accompany his older cousin, a deejay himself, to various parties and watch in awe and amazement as primitive equipment gave rise to joyful exuberance. “I used to carry my cousin’s records for him to the gigs,” recalls the 26-year-old. “The setup was as bootleg as you could get. There was no fancy lighting or equipment, but it was raw. It was just people having fun and dancing to music they love.” Observing the tables led to practicing incessantly on them, cutting his teeth at local parties and eventually landing a gig at Exit, the famed NYC nightclub home to some of the most famous deejays in the world. At 18 years old, the fledgling deejay was already spinning the famed red hip-hop room and destroying the competition. Meanwhile, the trained audio engineer was simultaneously working a full-time job at Audio Mixers studio and recording artists himself in The Boiler Room, the home studio he built in the basement of his house. As the resume increased, Chachi’s name became more and more synonymous with the nation’s hottest clubs. Stereo called. Then Home. Then…you get the idea. Now, the deejay counts Tenjune, mur.mur at Borgata, Axis/Radius (Scottsdale, AZ) and Shrine at Foxwoods among his numerous residencies. LIV at Fountainbleu in Miami. Lumen in Chicago. Pure and LAX in Las Vegas. These days, Chachi knows some stewardesses on a first-name basis. Monkeys can be trained to play a song; but only the elite can scan any place in any city in the country and instantaneously gauge, and react to, the vibe of the room. “I feel like there’s a lost art to reading a crowd,” says Chachi. “It’s not just jumping on the tables and spinning. It’s playing a song, taking a step back and seeing how people are reacting. There are deejays that can play the Top 40 hits, but there’s only so long you can play that for. For me, it’s about the crowd being in sync with what I’m doing; me and them never actually speaking but communicating through music.” That mindset, coupled with a tireless work ethic (“My turntables are right at the end of my bed,” says the deejay), has made Chachi a household name in both clubbing and celebrity circles, with Justin Timberlake, Jay-Z, Paris Hilton and Eva Mendes all showing love to the deejay. His work has been profiled everywhere from Us Weekly and In Touch to New York Post and Philadelphia Daily News and he has long transcended his status as “New York’s hottest DJ” into a national phenomenon. There’s a reason why hundreds of people line up at the club whenever Chachi comes through. Now it’s time to find out for yourself.

Steve Angello is a dance music rock star and this spring he’s boarding a bus set to roll through the USA and Canada. It’s the 2011 Size Matters North American Bus Tour getting down and dirty…rock n’ roll style! Complete with custom stage and lighting set ups.

The tour kicks off with a series of special Size Matters events in Miami and Steve’s much-anticipated appearance with Swedish House Mafia at Masquerade Motel Miami on March 26. There’s no rest for the wicked as Steve then hops on the Size bus for a jaunt up the eastern seaboard. It all ends with Steve headlining the Sahara Tent at Coachella.

Along for the ride are Steve’s brother, AN21, and Max Vangeli. The 3 artists combined to produce the potential tune of the year – Pendulum – The Island (Angello, AN21, Vangeli Remix). The last time Max spun at Glow he painted Lima Lounge with groovy, melodic house thrillers.

Steve Angello’s sets will be packed with his own recent productions including “Open Your Eyes,” a massive collaboration with Alex Metric and the track Pete Tong called “so large it needs its own festival”. There will be no shortage of the freshest tunes out there for Steve’s fans to hear first!

{tab=About Size}

Steve Angello needs little introduction. Most people will be aware that he is 33.3% of the Swedish House Mafia – the in your face and in demand elite collective of Sweden’s house music bad boys; Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso. They are now bona fide pop stars with their recent debut ‘One’ reaching a top 10 position and ‘Miami 2 Ibiza’ breaking into the top 5.

What many people forget is that each DJ from the Swedish collective also has their own solo career and respective record label. It is less well known that Steve Angello is also the chief A&R and level headed label boss of his own imprint SIZE, which has gained much Kudos and credibility over the past few years. Over the last 12 months he has enjoyed a string of Beatport top 10’s including 2 x No. 1’s. {tab=Video}

From: Germany

Style: Trance, house, electro

Famous Tracks: 9PM (til I come), Ecstasy, What About Us, Don’t Stop, Hold You, Behind, Let You Go

Best Known For: 9PM

DJ Mag Rank: 11

ATB has been plugging away, making tunes, touring across the world and trying new things. He wants to show his fans the new and unexpected.

Since dropping 9PM, the first trance tune to go #1 in the UK, ATB has put out nine artist albums and is currently working on his 10th. Last year, his ‘ATB The DJ 5’ included a rewired version of his famous track. The accompanying tour took him to clubs all over the world. He also reached No.8 in the Billboard Charts in the US with the single ‘Could You Believe’.

2010’s highlight was a summer residence in Las Vegas, where he exclusively headlined Paul Oakenfold’s Perfecto Night every Saturday in August at Rain Club, Palms Hotel.

Just another regular year in the life of ATB {tab=Bio}

ATB (born André Tanneberger on February 26, 1973 in Freiberg, Saxony, Germany) is a German DJ, musician, and producer of electronic dance music. According to the official world DJ rankings governed by DJ Magazine, ATB is currently ranked #25, and on the The DJ List he is ranked #4.

Musical career

Andre Tannenberger started his music career at the dance music group Sequential One. He was the brain of the group from 1993 to 2002. In 1998, Andre also started a solo project named ATB. His first track under this name was “9pm (Till I Come)”, included in the Movin’ Melodies album, which topped the United Kingdom music charts in 1999 and is widely regarded as the UK’s first trance number one. The track features a guitar riff which became hugely popular. This guitar sound, which he accidentally found while experimenting with a new producing deck, became the trademark of his early hits. ATB continues to evolve and change with every album. His current style involves more vocals and varied sounds, with frequent pianos.

Despite only releasing a few more singles in the UK, namely “Don’t Stop!” (No.3, 300,000 copies sold) and “Killer” (No.4, 200,000 copies sold), he still regularly releases music in his native Germany and in other parts of Europe, where he has scored big hits such as “I Don’t Wanna Stop” and his cover of Olive’s 1996 hit “You’re Not Alone”.

Two Worlds (released in 2000) was his second studio album. It is a two-disc album based upon the concept of different types of music for different moods. The titles of the two CDs are: “The World of Movement” and “The Relaxing World”. This album includes two songs featuring Heather Nova: “Love Will Find You” and “Feel You Like a River.” Also the song “Let U Go” features on the “The World of Movement” disc featuring the vocals of Roberta Carter Harrison from the Canadian pop band Wild Strawberries.

His third album, Dedicated, was released in 2002. It includes two top hits: “Hold You” and “You’re Not Alone”. The title refers to the 9/11 events, so the album is dedicated to that tragedy. In 2003 ATB released Addicted To Music, which included hits such as “I Don’t Wanna Stop” and “Long Way Home”. The same year, ATB’s first DVD was released, Addicted To Music DVD. It features all his videos, a tour documentary, photos and many more.

ATB’s latest hits include uplifting “Ecstasy” and chilling “Marrakech”, both from the album No Silence (released in 2004) and also released as singles. “Marrakech” was also included on the soundtrack for the movie Mindhunters.

In 2005, ATB released Seven Years, a compilation of 20 songs, including all his singles. Additionally, Seven Years includes six new tracks, including the single “Humanity” and the 2005 rework of “Let U Go”. Many of ATB’s recent albums have featured vocals from Roberta Carter Harrison, singer for the Canadian band Wild Strawberries.

His latest album, Trilogy, was released on May 4, 2007. The single “Justify” was released from The DJ 4 in the Mix compilation. The single “Renegade” was released on April 12, and features Heather Nova. The third single was “Feel Alive”, released in July the same year.

In a Trance.nu interview on May 11, 2007. ATB considered Don’t Stop! to be his worst production to date, and he no longer stands by it anymore, due to it having to be similar to his first hit, 9pm (Till I Come).

André is married to Anna Tanneberger, and dedicated the song “A Dream About You”, off the album Trilogy to her.

Privately, ATB is known to be very good friends with trance producer Sash! and prefers listening to chill out trance rather than upbeat and vocal trance. Dontstop.co.uk, 2008, http://www.dontstop.co.uk/vThree/didyouknow.php He is also known to be a close friend of Michael Cretu – a mastermind of the Enigma musical project.

From: London, UK

Style: Tech–driven, progressive vibes; tough, uplifting and energetic; ‘hands-in-the-air’ music

Famous Tracks: Dominos, Deadmau5 & Chris Lake – I Said (Michael Woods Remix), Deadmau5 – Strobe (Michael Woods Remix), Dynamik, Drop Zone, No Access

Best Known For: Running the Diffused Music label, getting remix work from Deadmau5, producing some of the best gritty, uplifting progressive house on the market.

Michael Woods, like Toolroom founder Mark Knight, not only runs his own label, but has worked to carve out his own niche in house music. Uplifting like Avicii and Axwell, bouncy with a little tech like Mark Knight, pushing forward like Deadmau5; Michael Woods has managed to distinguish his sound from all others… he has Diffused.

The ‘Diffused Music experience’ promises all the thrills and great ‘hands-in-the-air’ tracks that you crave while bringing the idea of elegant but epic music to the masses.

This is the dynamic force that clubs worldwide are raring for and Michael Woods and his Diffused sound are ready to raise the bar for House music to an all-time high with explosive force, undeniable talent and tough, uplifting music.

{tab=Bio}
Genius can be measured in a number of ways: ability, originality and accomplishment. In Michael’s short career he has managed to touch on every cornerstone, leaving proof of his musical competence at producing big room, progressive and tech-house tracks, along with a discernible motivation to better the quality of music being distributed. This has not gone unnoticed, with DJs like Pete Tong jumping at the chance to document Michael’s rise, featuring him on shows such as Radio 1’s 15 minutes of Fame.

From Argentinean & Guyanese decent, he was born and raised in Hackney London which he still calls home running his studio from there. Classically trained in a range of instruments at an early age provided Michael with a catalogue of creative skills including the keys—which he learned to play at the tender age of 3—guitar, drums and trumpet, practically making him a one man band. When not in the studio messing around with Cubase developing his craft, he would be found at Pimlico’s Trinity Music College where he contracted a love for musicality, often using his spare time orchestrating with the percussion section of the London Symphony Orchestra. Earlier achievements include the Michael Woods Remix of Energy 52’s Café Del Mar which held pride of place on the acclaimed Chilled Ibiza Gold Album and is a prime example of the ever growing popularity of the Woods marque. It has never ceased to be continually played and is still considered a classic among DJs and fans alike.

Collaboration’s with the likes of Chris Lake on Domino’s are proof of his skillful production abilities. These, however, are not the sole examples of his talent; many established artists have hired Mr Woods to renovate their sound into a style which emulates Michael’s musical vision. His remixes include Feels Like A Prayer on Toolroom Records, Deadmau5’s Strobe on mau5trap, Deadmau5 & Chris Lake with I Said as well as the more mainstream artists: Adele, Nate James, Xenomania signing Gabriella Cilmi, The Temper Trap, Way Out West and more recently, Estelle (I Can Be A Freak). Each have turned to Michael to help send shock waves through the music world with their sound, upping his status as a respected artist, track-after-track. His ability to rework music with an exceptionally sharp ear for quality production has left him in high regard with many artists and labels across the industry, with direct Tweets from the likes of Tiesto hailing his skill as one of the many examples.

Diffused Music has become his major priority since he founded the label in September 2008. Using it as a platform from which to promulgate his perfected sound, the label has released numerous acclaimed records: Yemba, Dropzone and the Envolver EP. As Michael’s career continues to escalate he has lined up countless events to build on his current success, touring with Deadmau5, setting a number of UK based gigs and also earning a coveted residency spot at one of the most sought after places in the clubbing realm, Cream’s Amnesia in Ibiza. Along with Mark Knights Toolroom Knights events and Pete Tongs Wonderland, the Woods fan base and clientele continues to sky rocket. It is apparent that this is not the height of his creativity, but rather a preview into what assuredly will be an illustrious career.{tab=Video}

From: USA (DC | NY)

Style: Breakfast: Trance, Techno | Eco: Trance

Famous Tracks: Breakfast: Air Guitar, The Air Between, Dubfire – Roadkill (Breakfast Remix) | Eco: Borealis, Lost Angeles, And We Flew Away, Tonight is Forever, Drowning

Best Known For: Breakfast: Coming to a Glow party, sticking a CD in Ferry Corsten’s hands and getting a deal with Flashover. Eco: Having something like 12 Tunes of the Week on Armin van Buuren’s A State of Trance.

When Casey Keyworth handed Ferry Corsten a CD at a Glow party a few years ago, he never thought he’d end being known as ‘Ferry’s protege.’ He’s spun A State of Trance parties, shared the stage with the best in the world, and the best have played his tunes across the globe. As of late Breakfast has taken his productions to the next level, abandoning his tried and true trance sounds to experiment with everything from techno to dub step and even hip-hop. But don’t worry, the man is still as deeply routed in trance as anyone.

“I seriously don’t know how he does it… Everything this man is touching is turning into pure melodic gold.” – Armin van Buuren on Eco

Eco has had a crazy amount of music featured on Armin van Buuren’s radio show. The NY local has been tearing the underground scene of the city that never sleeps apart for a while now. A huge fan of Pink Floyd and psychadelic rock, Eco brings the spaced out, trippy elements of the 60’s and 70’s acid into the driving, melodic-themed trance of today. Signed to Armada Records, Eco is on the cusp of releasing an artist album which is guaranteed to receive support from everyone. {tab=Bio}

BREAKFAST

LIKE THE MOST IMPORTANT MEAL OF THE DAY, DJ BREAKFAST CAN’T BE IGNORED.
CASEY KEYWORTH IS TAKING TRANCE DEEP, AND INTO UNCHARTED WATERS.

In a world saturated with over-indulgent trance melodies, generic drum kits and recycled beats, Casey Keyworth, aka Breakfast, leads a pack of fresh and innovative DJ/producers who are unafraid to challenge the established rules of dance music. His unique sound of lush, melodic and deep trance has caught the attention of the world’s tastemaker DJs and fans alike – so much so that Ferry Corsten took notice and made him one of his staple Flashover artists. (Currently the number seven DJ in the world according to DJ Mag, Corsten cites Breakfast’s track “Remember” as his Tune of 2009).

In a short time, Breakfast has achieved what most aspiring producers consider “living the dream.” Hailing from Annapolis, Maryland, Casey Keyworth took to the electronic music scene early-on, frequenting nightclubs in nearby Washington D.C. It took several years of learning – with various tinkering on MTV Music Generator and Fruity Loops, among other virtual studios/Digital Audio Workstations – to get it right. But gradually, the aspiring producer developed a polished sound and was able to distribute his output through reliable channels.

LAST NIGHT A DJ SAVED HIS LIFE

In the early ‘90s, electronic music fans in the United States were hard-pressed to find their favorite music on retail store shelves. Rather, the then-underground sound was relegated to urban nightclubs and specialized record shops. When he was 10 years old, Casey recalls listening to a late night dance music show on 99.1 WHFS; the alternative rock station would broadcast life sets from nightlife venues. He was hooked. “Holy crap!” he exclaims. “I found something that was beyond everything.”

Daft Punk beamed down the radio waves one night and Casey thought it was “way ahead of its time” – he resolved to own his own copy the next day. He went to the local music shop and asked, “Dude, what is this song that goes, ‘Around the world, around…’” to which the store clerk replied, “Oh, that’s Daft Punk. You want ‘Homework.’” He picked up the album and couldn’t stop listening to it.

He then uncovered his favorite genre after listening to BT’s track “Dreaming.” To Casey, it sounded very euphoric. He was so blown away by the song and considered it a next step up from Daft Punk. While putting the two – Daft Punk and BT – on the table together is like comparing apples and oranges, Casey had nonetheless found his niche and started to learn music production.

The Breakfast moniker came about when Casey was 16 years old. He had a self-described “ghetto studio setup,” consisting of his computer and a synthesizer (Yamaha CS6X). He would get up in the morning and on the weekends – whenever he had time to make music – and, instead of eating breakfast, would go straight to the studio: music for nourishment.

Fast-forward to 2005 and a 17-year-old Casey is going out way past his bedtime to see Ferry Corsten perform in Washington, DC. Being underage, and with strict US laws requiring nightclubs to enforce 21-and-over entry, he attended with his mother. Amidst flashing lights and a booming sound system, by chance Casey was able to slip Ferry Corsten a CD sampling of his music. “I think Ferry was stunned because I gave him a CD of nine different songs,” he remembers. Shortly after, on his 18th birthday, Casey received a phone call – Ferry Corsten wanted Breakfast to release music on his label, Flashover Recordings.

In 2006, Breakfast’s inaugural release was “The Air Between”; he hasn’t looked back since. Ferry began booking him as his supporting warm-up DJ. “I get to go on his tours – US tours, usually,” Casey says. Their relationship flourished as Ferry began to see a lot of potential in the young up-and-comer. “Being so young and so talented can only lead to a bright future,” Ferry says, “so I felt like the guy needed a push in the right direction.” He made Breakfast his exclusive, upfront artist. The exposure has provided Breakfast with a specific kind of music industry access that eludes most other DJs and producers – who you know really does count.

As he powerfully learned the ropes, soon enough he was ready to steer them. Flashover afforded Breakfast the chance to establish his own sound; the time came for him to explore other music styles. Casey started his own Flashover sub-label – and Moodymoon was born. “I wanted to release some music that wasn’t exactly Breakfast, but still had that good sound to it,” he explains. While he still releases big trance tracks for Flashover, Moodymoon is all about the deeper side of progressive house and trance.

The world’s top DJs regard Moodymoon as a first-rate label with a reliably good sound. From Sander van Doorn, to Above and Beyond, to M.I.K.E., to The Thrillseekers and Armin van Buuren, et al., each of Breakfast’s releases continues to receive tremendous support. Now in its fourth release, Moodymoon is building momentum and keeps churning out top-quality music by Breakfast; the label also gives him a chance to introduce other outstanding artists whom he has met while touring.

CRAFTED PRECISION

“I create energy with tension,” Breakfast responds when I ask him about his production style. For the now-21-year-old musician, it’s all about building layers on top of layers to build the pressure. “A lot of people will say my music sounds older because I don’t do the kick drum rolls,” he explains. “I just drop the beats back in.” In order to strike the delicate balance that distinguishes the Breakfast sound, he ensures that no musical element overpowers the other. The result is perfectly laid-out songs with dancefloor panache, combined with cinematic overtones and moments of romantic, introspective bliss.

Breakfast & Schossow’s “They Came For Us” (remixed by Breakfast) is a prime example of Casey’s ability to convey subtle elegance and driving dancefloor energy. Galloping bass is enveloped by deep, plodding bass with building percussion lines that pad the way for some warm, squelching acid riffs. The escalating tension is broken by an inspired melody that doesn’t overpower the composition – rather, it accents it, creating a sublime experience of emotion and uplift.

“I’m really trying to bring out very warm visuals,” Casey describes, then offers perceptible reference points, such as a sunset or the changing leaves in autumn. Breakfast Pres. Loomer “Take Me Back” shows off Casey’s keen ability to craft a growling dancefloor stormer, with its futuristic, take-no-prisoners keyboard arrangement, shiver-inducing refrain and techno-samba drum beats. It’s this kind of versatility – without straying too far from the trance genre – that is making Casey a key global player in the dance music market.

Gaining recognition from his peers such as Tiesto, Armin van Buuren and BT (who commissioned Breakfast to remix one of his tracks, “The Unbreakable”) has been a real eye-opener. He can now look at these luminaries and ask, “How does this sound? Is this good?” and be confident that he is receiving valid feedback. And now, the most important form of approval is coming from a growing base of dance music fans that frequent his gigs around the world. “Interacting with the crowd is probably my favorite thing and finding that comfort zone for them is perfect,” he states. Breakfast plays with an in-the-moment approach, finding that niche rhythm that the crowd likes and working it for them.

With many more DJ gigs slated for the next year (in far off places such as Asia, Australia and Russia), we can expect great things from this upstart DJ, label head and producer.

ECO

“I seriously don’t know how he does it… Everything this man is touching is turning into pure melodic gold.” – Quote ‘Armin van Buuren, ASOT441’

Originally hailed by Martin Roth as “New York’s uncut diamond” and a new addition to “the elite league of the upcoming young rebelling producers,” the young American producer Eco, is no stranger to the electronic dance music scene. With his hit tracks “Light At The End”, “Tonight Is Forever”, “Borealis”, “And We Flew Away”, and “Lost Angeles” all reaching Tune Of The Week status on Armin Van Buuren’s A State Of Trance radio show, his name has slowly but surely been making waves all over the electronic music globe, receiving consistent support from names as Armin Van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, Markus Schulz, and many more. Taking inspiration from bands like Sigur Ros, Pink Floyd, and Arcade Fire, Eco produces a hybrid version of progressive trance that closes the gap between the indie rock movement of today and the electronic music of tomorrow. As much as it is electronic dance music, it is also music that closes your eyes and paints colorful abstract images in your mind: pure inspiration. His signature sound has spread to music lovers of all genres and backgrounds, with complex melodies that reach their core.{tab=Video}
