¿ Do you want free Chipotle ?

NBC is giving away free Chipotle food to anyone who watches a short promo on Facebook for the upcoming show America’s Next Great Restaurant.

Participants get a buy-one, get-one-free coupon to Chipotle. The chain’s founder and CEO, Steve Ells, is one of four investors in the show.

Customers who print out the coupon can get a free Chipotle meal, including a burrito, tacos or a bowl with the purchase of another meal. The promotion ends March 6.

Chipotle is also running an in-store texting promo offering a chance to get a catered burrito party. Anyone who texts “ANGR” (America’s Next Great Restaurant) at any Chipotle location will have a chance to win.

The new show premieres March 6 and pits 21 contestants against each other as a panel of judges decide whose restaurant is the best. The winner gets to “fully savor his/her great American dream of launching his/her own restaurant chain,” according to an NBC rep.

Armada man Blake Jarrell adopted Chicago as his new home after Katrina forced him to move from the Big Easy. And although Chicago is the birthplace of house music, we have a feeling his summer residency at Club Amnesia (Ibiza) trumps all other homes.

Blake is constantly in the studio, producing location-inspired tunes and running his Concentrate radio series. This is Armin’s ace right here. His trancey, progressive style of house is literally the PERFECT thing to accompany the G&D’s return.

From: USA (NY)

Style: Tribal house laced with ridiculous drums

Famous Tracks: The Believe mix series

Best Known For: Being NY’s top resident-turned international star

A true product of Manhattan’s legendary electronic scene, he has spun at many of The Big Apple’s most legendary nightclubs, including Exit, Roxy and residencies first at Crobar and now Pacha. His high-energy sets are famous for their big drums and bigger builds.

With a career that has spanned over 15 years, Boris has come to represent everything that’s right about house music. His tenure at clubs across the country is matched only by legends such as DJ Dan, Danny Tenaglia and Junior Vasquez. His producing and engineering skills are the crème de la crème in any group of musicians.

Boris has worked with a who’s who of music industry mega stars including Janet Jackson, Missy Elliott, Jewel, Pink, Brandy, Usher, Brittney Spears, New Order, Boys to Men, 98 Degrees, Mya, Shania Twain, Salt-n-Peppa, Cindy Lauper, Jordan Knight and numerous others. With a list like that, there isn’t much more that needs to be said.

{tab=Bio}

The rich heritage of New York nightlife is focused on the figure of the resident DJ: The homegrown jock that puts down roots in a single venue, bonds with its crowd, and explores the limits of a DJ set with his faithful. The DJs who flourish in this demanding environment go on to become folk heroes, not only in New York, but all over the world (see Larry Levan, Danny Tenaglia, Junior Vasquez).

DJ Boris started his ascension to these ranks in 2004, when the native of St. Petersburg, Russia took up residence at New York super club Crobar. It was the culmination of years of workhorse gigging at almost every club across the Big Apple. But it was more than that too: It was a movement that has shown no signs of fading.

Boris (birth name: Boris Inzhin) started moonlighting as a DJ while taking classes at the Institute Of Audio Research in New York. With a metronomic mixing ability and a penchant for expansive, groove-based power-house music, the jock quickly found work both in DJ and production booths, playing at clubs like Exit, and Roxy, and remixing artists like Janet Jackson, Jewel and Gloria Estefan. In 2002, his mix of Pink’s “Get This Party Started” hit No.1 on the Billboard Hot Club Play chart.

His relentless approach to bring his cult of followers the best sound and experience possible has taken his production to even greater heights. Powerhouse industry labels like *69 Records, and Stereo Productions have wasted no time in signing Boris projects to their labels. Dancefloor missiles like “Automatic,” “Everybody Tweakin’,” “Lights Go Out,” and Lisa Pure’s “Movin On” have been embraced by a culture of beat aficionados, in and out of the many clubs DJ Boris has grown to call home.

And if home is where your heart is then Boris must be endowed with a heart the size of North America. His movement has rewarded him with residencies in every major city. Now a regular on the city’s club circuit, the name of Boris started to become associated with unapologetically massive music: big drums, big riffs, huge build-ups and lots of energy. Propelled by the promise of a great party experience and by a growing affection for the approachable DJ and his humble manner, his crowd swelled. By the time Boris debuted at mega club Crobar in May 2004, his faithful numbered in the thousands, united under a spontaneously created banner: “Believe in Boris.” Boys stamped it on their T-shirts in masking tape, girls Sharpied it on their flesh, and eventually Crobar flashed it on their video screens: A battle cry for a clubber’s revolution.

While at Crobar, Boris set the 30,000-square-foot club’s attendance record (a swinging-from-the-rafters 5,400), released his first mixed compilation (aptly titled “Believe”), and started to gig regularly outside of NYC, in markets like Miami, and Las Vegas. In 2006, when it became apparent that Crobar would close, Boris uprooted and moved his crowd 20 blocks north to Pacha New York, the first North American branch of the fabled European club brand, without missing a beat. He is still a Pacha resident.

Boris’ faithful service to the clubbers of New York has been rewarded with two Club World Award “Best Resident DJ” nominations (one while at Crobar, and one while at Pacha), a DJ Times cover story, a top 5 finish in the national America’s Best DJ fan poll, and a new residency at super club Space in Miami. Add this to the already accomplished residencies he holds at Rise in Boston, Therapy in Rhode Island, as well as his regular appearances at Ruby Skye in San Francisco, 960 in Connecticut, Deko Lounge in New Jersey. He’s also become one of the reigning kings of Winter Music Conference week, throwing massive pool parties by day and after-hours marathons by night for thousands of fans. The spoils of success have not halted his enthusiastic work ethic either. His ongoing pursuit to creatively, and musically express himself to those who adore him, has no doubtedly outgrown our own country’s limited borders. With his global campaign as New York’s premiere DJ underway, believers can be found from all corners of the planet. Venezuala, Colombia, Marrakech, Barcelona, Madrid, Ibizia, London, Montreal, Mexico, and Toronto have all been blessed with his energetically extreme beat orchestration. Boris and his team are currently planning the release of his fourth mixed compilation, and a series of European, and South American dates to compliment his tremendous ability in the studio.

So world, New York wants to know: Are you ready to believe in Boris?

This Week in DC Nightlife: Feb 7-13, 2011

Here’s a good look at the week ahead DC nightlife for February 7th –  13th 2011. This new weekly guide will focus on is the parties that appeal to people like me who enjoy clubbing. The dude that ponies up to the bar at the Irish Pub every night probably doesn’t care if a world-class producer and DJ is spinning at Lima on a Thursday night. So I won’t really get into details about the local pub scene or try to get you fired up about drink specials at neighborhood dive bars. That just ain’t our thing. But what I will do is look into the world of DC Clubbing and pick out at least one party per night that will blow your mind…or at least has the components in place to make for a sick blowout. I wish I could give you details on a hot party for Monday night, but right now I think we’re all recovering from our additional Sunday stupor. So let’s get straight into our Tuesday and move forward from there…

Tuesday – February 8th Glow Appreciation Night at Barcode

Every Sunday Club Glow will post a status on facebook.com/clubglow asking who wants free drinks at Barcode. The first 50 people, ages 21 and up, to respond will receive a $40 bar tab at Barcode’s Tuesday evening event with Glow. In addition, the restaurant and lounge will offer a 3-course dinner menu for $30 from 8:00 – midnight as well as half-off bottles of wine. Now, I wasn’t very good at math, but this is probably one of the best deals in town and even cheaper than the standard Restaurant Week deals. And if you’re quick to respond on Facebook, you’ll have a great bar tab waiting for you to enjoy. Now add in the fact that Barcode is bringing in international touring DJ Pleasurekraft to provide music and you can see why I list this as the best party. The ingredients are all there. Great food, great drinks, great music, specials and great people. Tuesday nights have never been better in the District. Visit Barcodedc.com for more info.

Wednesday – February 9th Ewan Pearson at U Street Music Hall

The U Street club with the ridiculously awesome sound system presents one of the most respected and in-demand Techno/Tech House producers, Ewan Pearson this Wednesday evening with support from Jubilee and D$auce. Ewan Pearson has been making records for a living since 1998. His remixes for the likes of Depeche Mode and Chemical Brothers have made him one of dance music’s most respected producers. He’s programmed for Goldfrapp and Gwen Stefani and his production credits include Tracey Thorn’s acclaimed solo album ‘Out Of The Woods’ and The Rapture’s ‘Pieces of the People We Love’. The bio goes on and on but you get the point. If you love dance music, U Hall on Wednesday is your spot. Visit Ustreetmusichall.com for more info.

Thursday – February 10th John Dahlback & Albin Myers “Myback Tour” at Lima

Both DJs are from Sweden. Both spin house music. Both have carved out their own place in the Swedish dance music pecking order. And now both are on tour and hitting up the beautiful Lima Lounge on Thursday night for your listening enjoyment. Dahlback is known for his techy and yet melodic-sometimes disco- esque basslines-that has become famous for moving a dance floors to epic levels of energy and excitement. 2010 marked the release of his 2xCD ‘Mutants’ album (October) as well a recent remix for Benny Benassi (December). Mutants is also the name of his new label, an imprint on the infamous Defected Records. Myers is known for his music, personality, and yes, the Mohawk, and it’s something that’s caught the attention of dance music fans around the globe. Just check out some of his clips on YouTube. His energy in the booth is beyond words and an expression of music most don’t get to see up close. Seeing the two of them together is like watching a magician pull a rabbit from a hat while telling a hilarious joke and hooking you up with backstage passes at the same time. Epic partying will no doubt ensue. Visit ClubGlow.com for more info.

Friday – February 13th DJ Enferno at Pop at Ultrabar

DJ Enferno at Ultrabar Nightclub DC

The legend himself DJ Enferno returns to the place that started it all, ULTRABAR!  Back in the day, Enferno was an Ultrabar Nightclub resident DJ, bangin’ out the best tunes every week and tearing up the dancefloor.  His talents were noticed by some big names, and soon he found himself touring globally with Madonna as her official DJ on the Sticky and Sweet tour!

His mixes are killer, his productions are bangin’, and his skills are unquestionable.  Enferno is the master of the beat, and electrifies the dancefloor wherever he goes.  Whether is a small nightclub or a massive stadium with 75,000+ people, Enferno lights it up!

Now he returns to his old stomping grounds to rip it up once again!  So get the old crew together and come out to party at Ultrabar Nightclub DC!

Friday – February 11th Absolute Addiction at Shadow Room

Saturday – February 12th George Acosta at FUR Nightclub

One thing that never changes in DC is you can always count on Club Glow to bring in one of the biggest names in dance music every Saturday night. Be it Armin, Guetta, Aoki, Benassi – the top DJs in the world always save a date for DC. And this Saturday continues the trend with Glow bringing in George Acosta, a global trance music powerhouse. George Acosta was the first artist ever booked at Glow. He continued to be Glow’s biggest draw for over 5 years, outselling the current giants. His impact on trance is unparalleled. Whether it’s progressive, melodic, uplifting, techy, fast, slow, it doesn’t matter. George has affected the career of every trance artist today. No one can argue with that. He defined the sound of South Beach. If you really want to be apart of the biggest party in DC, this is the ticket you want this week and every Saturday thereafter. Visit ClubGlow.com for more info.

Sunday – February 13th Day of Love at One Lounge

Red Skies Party and One Lounge are teaming up to bring you a pre-Valentine’s Day party at the Dupont Circle venue that satisfies any clubgoers deepest desires. It’s a night of great house music and love. Okay, so I know some don’t get into the whole Valentine’s Day idea. That’s fine. But you love something right? Even if it’s just the music, you can’t go wrong spending a Sunday night with some good old house music from DJs Agent Max, Dan O and Pryanikoff. And here’s the kicker… Red Skies is providing a “Love Box” where you can drop a note into the box for someone you love. It could be someone you’re already in a relationship with or someone you just dig and would like them to know. Red Skies promises to deliver your message to the intended person, even if they aren’t there. So who knows what could happen. But the idea and setting make for a perfect Sunday evening party to close out your weekend. Visit Redskiesparty.com for more info.
